Civil Superintendent - Structural Concrete
About the job
- At least 5 years of superintendent experience on large commercial, industrial, or civil projects with significant structural concrete scopes.
- Proven experience managing self-perform concrete crews.
- Strong knowledge of concrete construction methods, formwork systems, reinforcing steel, concrete placement, finishing, and curing practices.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, project schedules, and contract documents.
- Strong leadership, planning, and team management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Lead and supervise field crews, including foremen, carpenters, rod busters, laborers, and concrete crews.
- Oversee structural concrete operations to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.
- Develop project logistics plans and coordinate construction sequencing with the Project Manager.
- Manage concrete placement schedules, formwork operations, reinforcing steel installation, pump truck coordination, and material deliveries.
- Ensure quality control throughout concrete construction, including layout, rebar inspections, embeds, and concrete pours.
- Build and maintain relationships with owners, subcontractors, inspectors, and vendors.
- Promote and enforce company safety standards and Occupational Safety and Health Administration compliance on site.
- Support Project Engineers with shop drawings, submittals, requests for information, and field coordination.
- Resolve field challenges by collaborating with engineering teams, inspectors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
- Coordinate subcontractors and self-perform crews to maintain project schedules and productivity goals.
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration 30 certification is preferred.
- Experience with mass excavations and foundations, spread footings and drilled piers, retaining walls and cast-in-place walls, structural slabs and elevated concrete decks, reinforcing steel installation, formwork and shoring systems, large concrete placements and pump operations, and industrial, commercial, transportation, or heavy civil concrete projects.

Breaking ground on another industrial project with Mapletree in Joliet. Keeley Construction recently celebrated the groundbreaking of a new 419,520-square-foot industrial facility at 1851 Brandon Road in Joliet, Illinois. The ceremony brought together representatives from Mapletree, Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB), Architects Plus Design Studio, CAGE, and the Keeley Construction team to mark the beginning of another collaborative project. This development marks Keeley's second project with Mapletree in Joliet. Together, the two industrial facilities represent more than 731,800 square feet currently under construction, highlighting the continued strength of the partnership and Keeley's growing presence in the region's industrial market.
