About the job

Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, plus demonstrated experience delivering production software solutions, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience delivering enterprise-scale solutions on Microsoft platforms, including Dynamics 365, M365 Copilot, Power Platform, or Azure, with integration, security, and deployment in customer environments.
  • Proven experience delivering hands-on, production-grade solutions across the full delivery lifecycle, including ambiguous requirements, development, deployment, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Proven delivery of Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement or Power Platform solutions, M365 Copilot solutions, and experience building AI-infused workflows such as recommendations, summarization, case routing, contact center assistance, and sales or service copilots using production-grade engineering practices.
  • Experience building or extending solutions involving copilots, AI-assisted workflows, or intelligent automation is a strong plus.
  • Certifications and/or experience in Azure Solutions, Dynamics 365, M365 Copilot, and Power Platform; exposure to Azure AI services and generative AI solution patterns is a strong plus.
  • Agile delivery, DevOps, continuous integration and continuous delivery, and operational readiness such as observability and incident response are strongly preferred, especially for AI systems.
  • Excellent communication to explain AI behaviors, risks, and tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders and drive alignment from ambiguity to execution.
  • A trusted customer-facing engineering presence, collaborating deeply, pair-building with customer teams, and transferring knowledge to support long-term maintainability.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate AI-specific failure modes, including grounding gaps, unsafe outputs, and data leakage, as well as enterprise constraints such as security, privacy, and compliance.
  • Comfort working across time zones and blended onsite/offshore models, and ability to thrive in fast-moving, customer-embedded delivery.
Responsibilities
  • Embed with customer stakeholders to understand business workflows, constraints, and success metrics; translate ambiguous needs into clear requirements, solution hypotheses, and sprint deliverables for generative AI and agentic scenarios.
  • Design and implement agentic and generative AI solutions on Microsoft platforms, including Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365 Copilots, Power Platform, and Azure, with integrations, APIs, and automations that accelerate adoption and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Build proofs of concept for agentic workflows, validate them with users, and evolve them into production-ready implementations with testing, monitoring, and secure deployment patterns.
  • Own end-to-end delivery from architecture through implementation by defining build and test specifications, creating evaluation and quality gates for generative AI outputs, and producing operational guides and runbooks for reliability, safety, and maintainability.
  • Identify and mitigate business and technical risks specific to AI systems, including data access, prompt injection, hallucinations, privacy, compliance, latency, and cost; propose safeguards and fallback behaviors for agentic flows.
  • Support deployment and live stabilization by troubleshooting integrations and model behavior in real environments, iterating quickly, and ensuring successful go-live with clear ownership, monitoring, and incident playbooks.
  • Balance platform configuration with extensibility to maximize speed and maintainability; co-engineer with customer teams to ensure knowledge transfer, documentation, and reusable patterns; drive delivery plans across discovery, build, evaluation, deployment, and operations, accounting for dependencies across data, security, and enterprise systems.
  • Build agentic workflows that safely invoke tools and APIs using function-calling patterns, guardrails, validation, and auditability.
  • Implement offline and online evaluation strategies to measure output quality, groundedness, safety, and business impact.
  • Capture repeatable assets, including templates, reference architectures, and accelerators, and share feedback loops with internal teams.
  • Deliver Microsoft 365 migrations and security solutions, including SharePoint Server to SharePoint Online migrations and Google-to-Microsoft migrations.
  • Deliver Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement solutions, including Salesforce takeouts, Contact Center as a Service, and standard Customer Engagement solutions for Sales, Customer Service, and Field Service.
  • Deliver Copilot extensibility for Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365, including Copilot and Copilot Studio agents, multi-agent orchestration, Microsoft Agent Framework and governance, Work IQ data, memory and inference, APIs, and enterprise data grounding through Graph, Dynamics 365, and connectors.
  • Deliver Azure Fabric and Azure AI Foundry solutions, including OneLake-based unified data management, Lakehouse architecture for analytics and AI, model catalog usage for discovery and fine-tuning, enterprise agent development and multi-agent orchestration through Foundry Agent Service, and data grounding and retrieval-augmented generation using OneLake and Azure AI Search.
  • Deliver working generative AI and agentic solutions from prototype to production with measurable customer impact; implement guardrails and evaluation for reliability, groundedness, safety, and cost/performance targets; leave reusable assets, documentation, and enabled customer teams.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experienced Microsoft 365 migration talent is especially welcome.
  • Desirable experience includes Azure solution development, Contact Center solutions, Copilot Studio, and building generative AI or agentic experiences involving tool-use orchestration, retrieval grounding, evaluation and quality loops, and safety guardrails.

Microsoft offers buyouts to 60,000 staff as $175B AI spending raises questions

Microsoft is offering voluntary buyouts to about 60,000 employees, more than a quarter of its global workforce, as it tries to control costs and fund its artificial intelligence (AI) push. The offer covers eligible staff at level 70 and below in the US, Canada, India, and the UK. Microsoft forecasts about $175 billion in capital expenditures and finance leases for the 2026 calendar year. Staff working on Copilot and AI experiences are eligible, as are those in finance, human resources, Xbox, and Windows + Devices. Sean Campbell, chief executive officer of Cascade Insights, says Microsoft is falling behind in the AI race. He says a buyout could suit workers who want to reach the job market before their peers. The offer follows an earlier buyout to about 9,000 US employees and roughly 4,800 job cuts in July.

MT Newswires' real-time financial news now live in Microsoft Copilot via MCP

MT Newswires, a financial news provider, has made its real-time newsfeed available inside Microsoft Copilot through a Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration. It announced the move on October 27, 2026. Users can access company news, earnings, macroeconomic analysis, and sector insights within Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Responses link to their sources, so users can trace outputs back to original reporting rather than generic AI summaries. The integration needs no coding to activate. It is available today across Copilot, with availability in Copilot Studio. "Our clients don't want another platform to check — they want answers where they're already working," said Weston Walker, global head of sales and partnerships at MT Newswires. The company's MCP server is also available in Anthropic's Claude and Perplexity Computer.

Xbox's new pay-as-you-go cloud gaming, from $4 for 10 hours, angers gamers over rising costs

Xbox has launched Cloud Playtime, a pay-as-you-go option that lets Game Pass subscribers buy extra cloud gaming hours once they hit their cap. Ten extra monthly hours cost $4, 25 hours cost $8, and 50 hours cost $12. Game Pass subscribers already pay between $10 and $23 a month for five to 15 hours of cloud gaming. Xbox introduced the cap in September; the service had been unlimited when it launched in 2020 as a cheaper alternative to buying games. Some gamers have criticised the change. YouTuber Yong Yea said the extra fees undermine cloud gaming's affordability argument. The move comes as Xbox cut 20% of its workforce, about 3,200 roles, amid slumping revenue from falling hardware sales and Game Pass subscription losses.
