About the Job

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in technical program management, engineering delivery, product management, or a related role leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with measurable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated understanding and technical depth in modern software delivery practices, including Agile, software and product development life cycles, continuous integration and continuous delivery, testing, release, observability, and reliability.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large, complex, cross-functional technical programs and organizational transformation initiatives from planning through execution and delivery with measurable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success managing program risks, dependencies, executive escalations, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, change-management, and continuous improvement skills, with experience using data, process, metrics, and reporting to drive program decisions and measure success.
  • Clear, candid written and verbal executive communication skills; able to communicate concisely, present options, identify what is off track, and raise tradeoffs.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive results without direct authority.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Must be inquisitive and open to innovation, including artificial intelligence, to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technical programs and transformation initiatives across multiple value streams, functions, and technology domains; align stakeholders on objectives, execution strategy, dependencies, and success measures, such as an artificial intelligence software development life cycle transformation.
  • Establish program governance, execution frameworks, operating rhythms, escalation paths, and accountability mechanisms that improve delivery predictability, transparency, and outcomes.
  • Identify technical and organizational risks, bottlenecks, and dependency trends; challenge assumptions, define and drive program planning, and escalate unresolved issues to appropriate leaders.
  • Ensure risk-mitigation and recovery plans exist and are visible; escalate when execution on these plans is at risk.
  • With engineering leaders, define and maintain delivery measures; align on metric definitions and own the development, adoption, analysis, and continuous improvement of engineering and product delivery measurement dashboards for metrics such as DORA, feature cycle times, throughput, quality, rework, predictability, artificial intelligence-enabled productivity, delivery health, observability, and operational effectiveness.
  • Assess how artificial intelligence-assisted development and other levers change delivery speed, quality, and rework, and recommend where they are and are not working.
  • Translate performance trends and program insights into leadership recommendations covering delivery constraints, causes, proposed improvements, change owners, and success measures.
  • Improve engineering operating models, delivery practices, governance, and ways of working by identifying systemic barriers and driving continuous artificial intelligence-enabled improvement across teams.
  • Leverage artificial intelligence in the role’s own workflow.
  • Coach and mentor other program managers and delivery leaders and share effective practices.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to engineering leadership and mentor teams on operating excellence, influencing execution without direct people-management authority or ownership of engineering commitments.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, Support, Operations, IT, Data and Analytics, Cybersecurity, and Finance to resolve cross-functional issues and support strategic initiatives.
  • Communicate program status, risks, tradeoffs, recommendations, and escalations to senior and executive leaders; provide input on resourcing needs, program business cases, and cost-benefit considerations.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience evaluating build-versus-buy decisions, rolling out artificial intelligence-assisted development tools, and measuring their effects.
  • Experience using artificial intelligence or automation to run program tracking and reporting.
  • Experience mentoring other program managers and coaching others.
  • Experience driving operational excellence, process optimization and standardization, and organizational change across multiple teams.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Aha, Azure DevOps, Jira, Databricks, SQL, Claude, or Copilot.
