Requirements
  • At least 7 years of professional experience leading the development of multiple digital products or services, or multiple features in large products.
  • Experience leading organizational change management initiatives and building trusted advisor relationships with executive stakeholders.
  • Experience leading teams using modern iterative, user-centered, continuous delivery methodologies.
  • Experience creating and managing product vision based on user research and metrics.
  • Skill in translating product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes.
  • Experience conducting rapid evidence reviews, research, and field scans, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative user data.
  • Experience scoping and prioritizing technical and design tasks into delivery plans, supporting sprint ceremonies, and facilitating work management and tracking.
  • Experience leading products with multiple dependencies requiring joint releases to achieve measurable business objectives.
  • Experience leading teams through adoption of new tools, technologies, or methodologies.
  • Track record of leading intrapreneurial initiatives that delivered measurable organizational impact.
  • Skill in collaborating with government stakeholders, gathering their input, enabling their success, and reporting progress clearly.
  • Commitment to accessibility, inclusion, public service, and the mission of the New Jersey Innovation Authority.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Ability to pass a background check and complete additional application and onboarding steps.
Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end product and project management activities to deliver modern solutions meeting diverse user needs.
  • Advocate for end users and ensure equity, diversity, and accessibility needs are considered from the outset.
  • Lead agile ceremonies, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and team retrospectives, to support iterative design and delivery.
  • Evaluate custom-developed versus software-as-a-service options for poorly specified problems.
  • Identify and engage external experts and resources to inform, improve, and accelerate products.
  • Develop and communicate product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Develop and maintain product outlines, briefs, release plans, and other documentation.
  • Manage state requirements in product and service delivery.
  • Support team members in clearing delivery challenges.
  • Drive open project communication with the public, including through blog posts.
  • Participate in office-wide initiatives that enable collaboration and support across projects.
  • Execute additional duties and responsibilities needed to advance the mission and work.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience in civic technology is strongly preferred.
