Requirements
  • A master's degree in clinical or counseling psychology, social work, or a related subject area in social services such as psychology, social work, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human growth and development, special education, educational psychology, early childhood education, or early childhood intervention.
  • Professional licensure in a related field, including LMSW, LPC-A, LMFT, LCSW, or LPC.
  • Experience serving families in community-based programs.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish language proficiency.
  • Ability and willingness to work with families in their own homes.
  • Strong clinical skills.
  • Ability to adapt and individualize program interventions to utilize family strengths and skills.
  • Skill in handling multiple tasks and meeting multiple deadlines.
  • A valid driver's license, current insurance and registration, and a clear driving record.
  • A clear criminal background check.
  • Residence within one hour of the designated service area.
  • Clear drug-screen results from the organization's designated medical facility.
  • Willingness and ability to maintain a flexible, non-traditional schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Willingness and ability to regularly travel throughout the full identified service territory to meet with families and provide services where needed.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct clinical treatment using the Multisystemic Therapy treatment model and principles.
  • Conduct a thorough assessment of the client and family by gathering information on behaviors of concern and family and ecological strengths to inform conceptualization of problem behaviors and family interactions.
  • Engage the primary caregiver, family members, supports, and community agency staff, including school, probation, and child welfare personnel, in change-oriented treatment.
  • Dedicate time to weekly case planning and evaluation of case progress with ongoing support from supervisors and team members.
  • Assure, along with fellow clinicians, that clients have access to support 24 hours per day, 7 days per week as needed.
  • Work with youth ages 12–17 and their families to address challenging or problematic behavior through intensive interventions such as skill building, changing unhelpful family interactions, and increasing social support.
