Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing as a registered nurse.
  • Hold current registered nurse state licensure.
  • Have experience in clinical nursing.
  • Have at least six additional months of chronic or acute dialysis nursing experience.
  • Demonstrate leadership competencies and management skills, including communication, customer service, continuous quality improvement, relationship development, results orientation, team building, motivating employees, performance management, and decision making.
  • Demonstrate management skills necessary to supervise facility personnel and ensure maximum quality care for patients.
  • Successfully pass the Ishihara Color Blind Test.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the dialysis facility in accordance with legal, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and Clinical Manager or Charge Nurse to provide quality patient care from admission through discharge.
  • Make daily decisions to ensure continuity of care and patient and staff safety.
  • Market available services through presentations to physicians and dialysis facilities.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development plans for all direct reports.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Quality, Education, and Technical Services departments.
  • Oversee the facility’s Home Therapies Program with the Home Therapies Program Manager.
  • Maintain medical and operational records and comply with data collection and auditing activities.
  • Complete Internal Classification of Disease coding and required network reporting.
  • Participate in on-site state and federal surveys.
  • Execute short- and long-term objectives with responsibility for costs, methods, staffing, and results.
  • Administer the daily business operations of the dialysis clinics, including center staff functions, patient-care quality, physical plant and equipment maintenance, and inventory control.
  • Manage profit and loss and other financial aspects of the center to achieve or exceed budget and key performance indicators.
  • Coordinate all aspects of patient care from admission through discharge.
  • Address patient and family concerns and questions.
  • Oversee timely completion of patient care assessments and care plans.
  • Manage patient schedules and develop action plans for missed treatments.
  • Report changes in patient status involving clinical, insurance, travel, or transportation issues.
  • Participate in selecting and hiring new team members and ensure completion of orientation and mandatory training.
  • Ensure patient-care employees complete required training and maintain current licensures and certifications.
  • Support clinical staff and encourage professional growth.
  • Facilitate physician privilege applications and compliance with Medical Staff By-Laws.
  • Maintain physician relationships and effective communication.
  • Participate in the regional Governing Body interdisciplinary team.
  • Implement the Continuous Quality Improvement Process and Quality Assessment and Improvement Program team.
  • Review center operations for compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Support quality standards through regulatory compliance and continuous quality improvement tools.
  • Coordinate with the Charge RN and Medical Director on quality goals, action plans, adverse safety events, and safety thresholds.
  • Ensure quality policies and procedures are communicated to and implemented by facility staff.
  • Manage facility staff workload and provide guidance and leadership.
  • Create and communicate employee schedules according to facility staffing needs.
  • Provide ongoing informal feedback and formal annual performance evaluations, set staff goals, and act on performance feedback.
  • Manage staffing through hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions.
  • Document disciplinary meetings and confer with Human Resources and the Director of Operations.
  • Ensure new-hire orientation, training, coding training, mandatory in-services, licensure documentation, and policy updates are completed.
  • Provide training and guidance to develop staff clinical competencies and support professional growth.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources regarding benefits and personnel policies.
  • Maintain communication with Division and Corporate personnel and facility staff.
  • Use knowledge of company services and products to contribute to business growth.
  • Maintain facility environmental integrity and safety and monitor facility security.
  • Schedule equipment, operating-system, and physical-structure maintenance and repairs.
  • Coordinate inventory and supply management, approve purchase orders, and control supply costs.
  • Ensure efficient use of medications, laboratory services, inventory, supplies, and equipment.
  • Contribute to facility policy and procedure development and manual maintenance.
  • Direct information gathering for billing, billing issues, and collections.
  • Coordinate and approve facility payroll.
  • Review provider contracts for vendor services, including insurance, laboratory, and cleaning services.
  • Supervise Charge RN and DPC staff.
  • Interact with patients, facility staff, and physicians in a healthcare-facility environment.
  • Travel to regional, Business Unit, and Corporate meetings as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a supervisory or management role in a medical facility.
  • Med/surg or ICU/CCU experience.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with medical database software.
