Requirements
  • A Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an accredited medical school is required.
  • Completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine or Pediatrics is required.
  • Successful completion of a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology is required.
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Allergy and Immunology is required.
  • A valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in California is required.
  • Demonstrated experience diagnosing and managing patients with allergies, asthma, and immunologic conditions is required.
  • Hands-on experience performing and interpreting allergy testing, spirometry, and administering immunotherapy is required.
  • Knowledge of allergy, asthma, and immunologic diseases and treatments is required.
  • Interest and experience in clinical research, including trial design and data analysis, is required.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team is required.
  • The role requires standing, walking, and moving throughout the clinic for extended periods, occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, stooping, or reaching, frequent use of hands and fingers, and normal or corrected vision and hearing.
Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage patients with allergies, asthma, immunologic conditions, and related diseases.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical histories, physical examinations, skin tests, blood tests, and pulmonary function tests.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans involving medication management, immunotherapy, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Educate patients and their families about managing allergies, asthma, and immunologic conditions.
  • Perform allergy skin testing, spirometry, and immunotherapy, including allergy shots.
  • Oversee in-office oral food challenges, drug challenges, oral immunotherapy, and sublingual immunotherapy for environmental and food allergies.
  • Collaborate with pulmonologists, dermatologists, primary care physicians, and other specialists to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and current medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations and confidentiality standards.
  • Stay informed about advancements in allergy and immunology treatments and participate in continuing medical education.
  • Provide empathetic, patient-centered care focused on patient education, wellness, and satisfaction.
  • Engage in clinical research initiatives through Orso Health related to allergic and immunologic diseases and other areas of clinical interest.
  • Design and conduct clinical trials involving new therapies, biologic treatments, and immunotherapy options.
  • Analyze research data, prepare reports, and collaborate with research teams to publish findings in medical journals.
  • Develop innovative clinical pathways and treatment strategies based on research findings.
  • Work with industry partners, academic institutions, and research foundations to advance clinical studies in allergy and immunology.
  • Mentor and guide junior researchers interested in allergy and immunology research.
  • Present research findings at national and international conferences.
Desired Qualifications
  • One to three years of post-fellowship clinical experience is preferred, although highly qualified new fellowship graduates will be considered.
  • Experience in a clinical or private practice setting is preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish proficiency is preferred but not required.
  • Expertise in immunotherapy and biologic treatments for allergy and asthma is preferred.
  • Experience writing research protocols, preparing grant submissions, or publishing research is preferred.
  • Interest in exploring innovative treatments and advancing immunology is preferred.
