Requirements

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to assist with moving and transferring patients.
  • BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain it within the first 90 days.
  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Previous patient transport experience is not required; on-the-job training is provided.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport patients throughout the hospital by wheelchair, stretcher, or hospital bed to and from departments and diagnostic areas.
  • Assist with patient transfers and positioning for diagnostic examinations.
  • Maintain patient comfort, safety, and privacy.
  • Assist with oxygen equipment when needed.
  • Maintain clean and readily available transport equipment.
  • Communicate with patients, visitors, and healthcare team members to support safe and comfortable transport.
  • Maintain daily transportation logs and documentation.
