- 6–12 years of experience.
- A B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- Knowledge of thermoplastics, elastomers, metals, and plating materials.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including molding, stamping, plating, and assembly.
- Knowledge of plastic and sheet metal design concepts.
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and tolerance stack-up.
- Experience using UG NX and Teamcenter; this is mandatory.
- Exposure to connector test specifications and original equipment manufacturer specifications.
- Experience performing theoretical calculations.
- Ability to interact with cross-functional teams.
- Problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Proficiency in English.
- Work independently to create parametric models and manufacturing drawings.
- Perform requirement analysis and focus matrix activities.
- Generate concepts according to requirements.
- Create development, manufacturing, and offer drawings based on inputs.
- Prepare technical customer documentation.
- Implement engineering change request changes in series parts.
- Perform tolerance stack-up and functional proof of connector assemblies.
- Perform design calculations for connector-part design features.
- Benchmark connectors and compare specifications.
- Perform connector validation and design verification, including associated requirements.
- Create material masters and bills of materials in SAP.
- Experience in the connector industry or automotive domain.
- Exposure to plastic injection molding tooling, sheet metal forming and stamping tools, and connector assembly tools.
- Knowledge of electric vehicles and high-voltage connectors.
- Experience or participation in design review based on failure mode (DRBFM), focus matrix, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) for connectors.
- Knowledge of project management tools such as Microsoft Project and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Experience using Creo for air gap and creepage calculations.
- German language knowledge.
