Zoetis ties AI to business value: 95% of staff use its platform and employees have built 10,000 agents

Animal health company Zoetis, which generated about $9.5 billion in revenue in 2025, is rolling out AI across research, customer service and daily work, while requiring each major investment to prove its value. Before work begins, technology, business and finance teams define the expected benefit, its effect on profit and loss, and how to measure it. Some initiatives have been scaled back as a result, said Keith Sarbaugh, chief digital and technology officer. Zoetis' Zen AI platform gives staff access to 10 or 11 large language models. About 95% of employees use it regularly, and they have built roughly 10,000 agents. Sarbaugh reported developer productivity gains of 30% to 35%. He expects AI-assisted supply chain planning could save millions of dollars in freight costs. He said Zoetis underestimated change management, and it now involves stakeholders early to drive adoption.

Zoetis down 38% this year: is a 13x forward P/E a buying chance in animal health?

Zoetis (NYSE:ZTS), the world's largest animal health company, has lost 38.17% of its value this year, and some bulls now see a buying chance. Shares traded at $77.80 on October 28, 2026, with a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 13.10, down about 25% from 17.57 at the end of 2025. Weaker US pet-care demand, lower guidance, falling sales of its dog arthritis drug Librela and cheaper rival medicines have hurt the stock. By comparison, IDEXX Laboratories fell 16.79%. Bulls point to trusted brands, high margins and a pipeline of more than 12 potential blockbuster products. The company made about $9.5 billion in revenue in 2025. Hedge fund holders rose to 64 in the second quarter from 57.

Zoetis stock is 45% off its high with a 6.8% free cash yield as pet vet visits decline

Zoetis stock trades 45.1% below its October 27, 2025 high, as fewer pet visits to the vet pressure sales. The animal health company cut its fiscal 2026 revenue guidance midpoint to $9.22 billion from $9.82 billion on August 6, 2026. Management blamed fewer clinic visits, more value-conscious pet owners and heavier promotions. Key Dermatology sales fell 16% to $395 million in the second quarter, with a new US competitor entering the market. Still, Zoetis produced free cash flow of $2.32 billion in the year to June 2026, up from $1.29 billion in the year to June 2023. That equals 6.8% of its market value. Total debt rose to $9.24 billion from $6.79 billion a year earlier. The stock trades at 12.9 times earnings, against 22.9 for the S&P 500.
