Lenovo is hiring a legal counsel, based in Bangalore, India who shall be responsible for handling contracts in the Lenovo Contracts Team for AP region and more specifically the region of India and South-East Asia.

As a qualified lawyers, with perfect drafting skills in English, you will draft and negotiate complex agreements for all Lenovo business lines in India and South-East Asia (Server and Services, PC, phone): sales agreements for DaaS, Infrastructure, SaaS and hardware products, Private/Public Bids and RFPs, Purchase, subcontracting, licensing, reseller and channel agreements.

Communicating effectively, in a manner that is readily understandable, about legal and business matters, providing good risk/benefit analysis and guidance to internal stakeholders are key skills to be leveraged.

The position will require intensive collaboration with fellow internal legal counsels within the Asia Pacific region, technology experts, marketing and sales leads, product developers as well as with Lenovo’s customers and suppliers during contract negotiations. The successful candidate will have at least 6 years of legal experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of English language agreements, particularly within a technology company.

Lenovo acquires Phoenix Technologies, maker of iconic 1990s BIOS software

Lenovo has completed the acquisition of Phoenix Technologies' firmware business, bringing the iconic BIOS provider under Chinese ownership. The deal, finalised on 28 April 2026, includes Phoenix's intellectual property, engineering teams and chip manufacturer relationships, though the financial terms were not disclosed. Phoenix, founded in 1979, created the first commercially available IBM PC-compatible BIOS in 1984 and has supplied firmware for Lenovo's ThinkPad range for over 20 years. The acquisition gives Lenovo vertical control over the critical low-level software that initialises PC components before the operating system loads. Luca Rossi, president of Lenovo's Intelligent Devices Group, described the move as a "strategic turning point" that will deliver significant cost savings by eliminating licensing fees and enable firmware optimisation for future AI-powered PCs.
