Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Engineering or related field
  • 7+ years experience in package engineering and development, concentrated in the prestige beauty industry
  • Experienced people manager
  • Comprehensive knowledge of materials used in the construction and manufacturing of primary, secondary and tertiary packaging
  • Comprehensive knowledge of test methods used to validate component/package performance
  • Experience building strong relationships with domestic and international vendors
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to be clear and concise
  • Background in Sustainability appreciated
Responsibilities
  • Develop and upskill the Packaging Development team, direct reports
  • Identify cross-functional process improvements to create efficiencies in workstream and collaboration, optimizing the function's role within the brand
  • Drive new packaging development by delivering on creative design vision and presenting new concepts, technologies and delivery systems across the organization
  • Build and execute packaging related sustainability initiatives
  • Manage 2025 projects to ensure launch timing, testing, product quality, and design integrity are on time and within agreed upon cost objectives
  • Provide comprehensive feasibility of each concept or package that defines function, manufacturability, component cost, tooling estimates, preliminary development lead time, risk and global consistency
  • Maintain pulse of industry trends, new technologies and new product packaging. Keep informed through colleagues, vendors, journals, professional affiliations, and seminars of new materials, processes, and procedures
