Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience is required.
  • A flu vaccine is required; only medical or religious exemptions are accepted.
  • Structural heart scrub experience is required.
  • Experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization laboratories is required.
  • Experience with cardiac stent placement, adult diagnostic catheterizations, intra-aortic balloon pump placement and removal, interventional catheterizations, left and right heart catheterization, percutaneous coronary interventions, pulmonary artery line or Swan-Ganz monitoring, and procedural medications is required.
  • Experience with blood product administration, intravenous infusion pumps, and starting intravenous lines is required.
  • Experience with 12-lead electrocardiograms, activated clotting time, cardioversion, infection prevention, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, isolation precautions, malignant hyperthermia protocols, procedural sedation monitoring, Richmond Agitation-Sedation Scale, and sheath removal and monitoring is required.
  • Cath lab procedure experience with balloon angioplasty, percutaneous coronary intervention, stents, thrombectomy, Impella insertion, left and right heart catheterization, and Rotablader is required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Basic Life Support certifications are required.
  • Experience with Pyxis, SBAR, and Epic is required.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients and equipment for cardiac catheterization laboratory procedures.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and procedural sedation.
  • Operate imaging technology and specialized cath lab equipment.
  • Maintain a sterile and safe environment to support patient care.
  • Support percutaneous coronary intervention, balloon angioplasty, stent placement, patent foramen ovale or atrial septal defect closure, cardiogenic shock, and chronic total occlusion procedures.
  • Float as needed.
  • Work weekday day shifts and take call one day per week and every fifth weekend.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with atrial septal defect closures, cardiac implant closure devices, Impella insertion, Rotablader atherectomy, scrub procedures, and transcatheter aortic valve implantation or replacement.
  • Experience with angioplasty, dialysis graft intervention, and upper- and lower-extremity angiography.
  • Experience assisting with central line insertion and management, and caring for implanted ports and peripherally inserted central catheter lines.
  • Experience with end-tidal carbon dioxide monitoring, external compression devices, hypothermia protocols, laser-assisted procedures, pressure ulcer assessment and prevention, radiation and laser safety, topical hemostasis, vascular closure systems, and ventilator monitoring.
