An associate degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or a closely related field; or at least one year of experience as a Technical Assistant 2.
Alternatively, two years of transportation construction inspection experience and a high school diploma; or four years of highway/building trades, construction, inspection, or design experience and a high school diploma; or ACI, NICET, and/or NECEPT certifications.
An equivalent combination of experience and training may qualify if it provides the knowledge and abilities to read and interpret plans and specifications, measure and calculate quantities, and perform quality control testing on highway materials.
An associate degree in Engineering may be substituted for one year of experience.
Actively engage multiple perspectives when solving problems, learn from peers, and encourage reciprocal learning among team members.
Responsibilities
Inspect construction to ensure contractors build a quality project.
Perform assigned duties to ensure plans, specifications, standards, and quality control plans are followed.
Comply with district and project-specific overtime requirements.
Meet with the Department Project Engineer, Manager, or Supervisor, or the Consultant Manager or Supervisor, daily or as required, to receive instructions and assignments.
Complete PSA forms and worksheets daily.
Request assistance from a Manager or Supervisor for instructions or assignments involving inspection of materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with contract requirements and established standards.
Participate in daily huddles with field staff.

What you’ll be challenged to do:This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced, motivated Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI) who thrives in a collaborative team environment. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Perform inspection to assure that contractors build a quality construction project.
Perform assigned duties to specific activities to assure plans, specifications, standards and Q.C. Plans are adhered to.
Comply with the District and project specific overtime requirements.
Meet with the Department Project Engineer/ Manager/ Supervisor or Consultant Manager/ Supervisor daily, or as required, to receive instructions and assignments.
Complete PSA’s and work sheets daily.

What you will bring to our firm:

Compensation:The salary range for this role is $28.00 - $33.00 per hour. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
