Requirements
  • Three to five years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and machine repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, perform maintenance and service, and research parts needed for inventory.
  • Ability to supply personal tools.
  • Average math skills.
  • Ability to use a handheld tablet.
  • Ability to learn the Computerized Maintenance Management System used at CW, ManagerPlus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Ability to attend required food safety training sessions, including Good Manufacturing Practices, Safe Quality Food, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points, allergen, food facility security, and foodborne illness prevention training.
  • Ability to comply with safety requirements, including bump cap or hard hat, safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety boots.
  • Ability to work in a facility processing milk, eggs, peanuts, soy, and/or wheat allergens, with or without accommodation.
  • Physical dexterity to safely and efficiently perform installation and troubleshooting work in interior and exterior facilities.
  • Ability to operate tools, bend, kneel, crouch, stand for extended periods, reach above the head, hear and speak to exchange information, see to perform skilled work and read meters or gauges, lift and carry heavy equipment or materials, work in cramped spaces, and use ladders, scaffolding, and/or a scissor lift.
Responsibilities
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, immediate repairs, and preventive maintenance on packaging lines.
  • Assemble and install new equipment and packaging lines.
  • Assist with packaging line setups as needed.
  • Provide maintenance support during product trials.
  • Assist with and train operators on autonomous maintenance procedures.
  • Suggest, request, and manage parts and inventory to support timely maintenance and repair operations.
  • Log work in the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Resolve work requests received through radio calls.
  • Escalate issues using the help chain and participate in DMS 1 communications.
  • Train Maintenance Technician I associates to maintain primary packaging equipment.
  • Rebuild and fabricate parts.
  • Maintain 5S standards and a clean, safe work area.
  • Enforce company rules regarding safety, discipline, cooperation, and teamwork.
  • Comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration safety and Good Manufacturing Practices standards.
  • Participate in company Good Manufacturing Practices walks.
  • Enforce company rules regarding food safety and monitoring.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.
  • Work weekends or shifts other than the assigned shift when business needs require.
  • Work at facilities other than the assigned facility when business needs require.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Total Productive Maintenance.
  • Experience in a food environment.
  • Welding, fabrication, and machining skills.
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience.
