Responsibilities
  • Own manual money movement processes, taking full responsibility for critical financial tasks such as BillPay, customer refunds, and safeguarding.
  • Champion operational excellence by prioritising accuracy and producing consistent, high-quality work.
  • Become a subject matter expert on the company’s financial processes, understand their intricacies, and stay informed about updates.
  • Regularly review and improve manual processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy, and propose and implement streamlining changes.
  • Collaborate with other operational teams to ensure processes meet Service Level Agreements, including customer outreach across departments.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of customer bills through BillPay.
  • Manage risk and operations processes related to transferring Rewards points to customer bank accounts through redemptions.
  • Ensure all processes related to safeguarding customer funds are executed precisely and within Service Level Agreements.
  • Ensure unsuccessful drawdowns are returned, calculate interest to be refunded within Service Level Agreements, and communicate decline reasons to customers to improve understanding and minimise repeat contact.
  • Identify customers who can be added to preloading and present the data for action by the Fraud team.
  • Lead a new company pilot offering drawdowns to US customers, understand US regulatory compliance and timescales, and use software to process US payments effectively.
  • Oversee the processing of customer refunds efficiently and accurately.
  • Manage the allocation and refunding of unallocated cash to customers promptly and correctly.
  • Handle processes related to the sale of debt in compliance with relevant procedures and regulations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Willingness to learn and ideally some familiarity with data analysis tools such as Looker and Snowflake.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel or Sheets.

Capital On Tap Selects Gocardless For Variable Recurring Payments

Capital on Tap, a leading all-in-one small business credit card and spend management platform, has selected bank payment company GoCardless to provide Variable Recurring Payments (VRPs) through its open banking feature, Instant Bank Pay. This expands a relationship which began in 2014, when Capital on Tap first selected GoCardless for Direct Debit. Capital on Tap will use GoCardless to collect both one-off and recurring payments, enabling them to offer greater payment flexibility to their small business customers. Capital on Tap customers will be able to repay their credit cards on a monthly basis using Direct Debit, and have the option to make weekly repayments and recurring payments for variable amounts through open banking. Damian Brychcy, CEO of Capital on Tap, said: “We’ve worked with GoCardless for over a decade, collecting more than £2.5bn in Direct Debits with over £15m saved in card fees.
