What believers are saying

  • ExPort unifies dealer orders, invoices, warranty, and training into one login, cutting friction.
  • GaLaBau 2026 showcased AS 920 E-Sherpa, AS 990 Tahr RC, and Summit Pro.
  • Octane and Huntington financing in 2026 should lift dealer approvals and conversions.

What critics are saying

  • The 2025 snow-thrower recall still exposes AriensCo to dealer-service costs and brand damage.
  • Yanmar control after closing can force strategy shifts, procurement changes, and integration disruption by 2027.
  • If snow demand weakens and electrification stalls, AriensCo's core brand mix loses relevance.

What makes AriensCo unique

  • AriensCo owns Ariens, Gravely, and AS-Motor, spanning snow, turf, and slope equipment.
  • Brillion manufacturing plus European distribution give AriensCo a rare transatlantic dealer footprint.

Japan-based Yanmar becomes majority owner of AriensCo.

Japan-based Yanmar becomes majority owner of AriensCo. September 3, 2026 Get Our Email Newsletter Local news about the companies, people and issues that impact business in Northeast Wisconsin and beyond. AriensCo and Yanmar Holdings Co., Ltd. today announced a strategic partnership that will mean Yanmar, a Japan-based manufacturer of engines, agricultural machinery and energy systems, becomes the majority partner in Brillion-based AriensCo. The Ariens family will retain a significant stake in their outdoor power equipment business and lead operations and strategy for the company from its existing headquarters in Brillion, Wisconsin. Both companies will continue operating as usual under their respective brands, from their current headquarters, with the same teams, and with their manufacturing and distribution networks intact, AriensCo said. "There are moments in the life of a family business when you have to make brave leaps the earlier generations never could have imagined because you know, in your heart, it's right for all the people depending on you," said AriensCo Chairman & CEO Dan Ariens in a letter to the community. "This is one of those moments." Ariens said the company is joining forces with Yanmar "to meet customers' demand for more advanced technologies in their equipment and to realize the benefits of scale in an increasingly complex sourcing environment." The partnership between the two multigenerational family-owned businesses positions them to lead the development of next-generation industrial power equipment, AriensCo said. Ariens said the industry "is changing faster than at any point in its history. Autonomous equipment, battery-powered products, artificial intelligence and global supply chains are transforming what customers expect and what it takes to compete. We have watched our industry consolidate around us, and we made a choice: move boldly with the right partner, or risk falling behind. Yanmar is that partner." With beginnings in 1912 in Osaka, Japan, Yanmar was the first ever to succeed in making a compact diesel engine of a practical size in 1933, the same year as AriensCo was founded. Yanmar was founded "with the same commitment to quality, craftsmanship and long-term thinking that our family has always stood for," Ariens said. "When we sat across from them, we felt like we were talking to people who understood us - not a corporation looking for an acquisition, but a family looking for a partner." Ariens also said in his letter that while some changes are expected, "there are no plans to move operations or reduce our local workforce at any site. If anything, the strength of this partnership means we are better positioned to grow." "As a family business with a history spanning more than 100 years, Yanmar shares our belief that family ownership is a competitive advantage," Ariens said. "This partnership provides continuity by keeping family ownership at the heart of AriensCo. It allows both companies to look beyond short-term business performance to deliver long-term value to our dealers, customers, partners and communities around the world. We are stronger together." Yanmar's world-class engineering, production and diagnositic capabilities complements AriensCo's established North American and European manufacturing and distribution networks and allows the partners to compete at scale while staying rooted in their respective histories. The partnership is also expected to create new opportunities for AriensCo's nationwide dealer network. "AriensCo has built trusted brands and strong customer and dealer relationships over generations," said Takehito Yamaoka, President and Representative Director of Yanmar Holdings Co., Ltd. "Together, we aim to create greater value for customers, dealers and the communities we serve. This partnership will also provide a strong foundation for the long-term growth of both companies." Ariens, Gravely, AS-Motor and all associated brands will uphold their commitments to dealers, customers, employees and communities, AriensCo said.

At this year's leading trade fair for the green sector, GaLaBau 2026, the focus at the AriensCo stand will deliberately be on solutions that are now in practical use and are already proving their worth in the current season. The E-Sherpa - more powerful than its combustion-engine counterpart. With the AS 920 E-Sherpa 2WD, AS-Motor has become the first manufacturer to launch a production-ready, battery-powered ride-on mower for tall grass, featuring a swappable battery system. With a powerful 56-volt system and a total capacity of 16 kWh, the electric drive and blade motor deliver mowing performance that exceeds that of a combustion engine. 13 kW of peak power at the cutting deck ensures enormous blade force and an excellent cut. With this mower, AS-Motor has specifically expanded its RC portfolio to include a solution for challenging terrains where efficiency, safety and hill-climbing capability are crucial. The bidirectional mowing mode significantly increases area coverage. The tracked design with a low centre of gravity ensures high traction and stability, even across slopes of up to 56 degrees. The intuitive remote control reduces operator strain and enables precise working off-road. With a mowing rate of up to 4,500 m^2 per hour, robust construction and high serviceability, the AS 990 Tahr RC is built for daily use in demanding conditions. Stay on track with AS-Motor X-Act Track. With the X-Act Track steering assistance system for the remote-controlled tracked flail mowers AS 1000 Ovis RC and AS 1000 Ovis Evo RC, AS-Motor offers a further solution to the growing demands for efficiency and precision over large areas. The GPS-assisted track guidance, supplemented by RTK correction data, enables clean, overlap-free mowing patterns whilst reducing the workload on the operator. The ' ' shifts the focus from active steering to monitoring the mowing process and significantly increases area coverage in professional use. AriensCo consolidates processes in new platform.

AriensCo consolidates processes in new platform. Dealers often work with several parallel systems. Different logins, scattered data and a lack of integration make it difficult to access key information and waste time in day-to-day operations. AriensCo has responded to this by developing the ExPort dealer platform. It brings together previously separate systems and provides centralised access to all key AriensCo processes and information. Previously, sales partners used different platforms, for example for spare parts orders, marketing materials and training. This created additional work and hindered the consistent use of digital services. With ExPort, AriensCo now consolidates all systems into a single platform. Via a central login, all dealers can access account details, orders, invoices, equipment information, as well as warranty and service processes. The platform combines applications such as the ordering and information system, media portal and learning platform into a unified environment. Key tasks such as maintaining contact details, registering machines, and submitting warranty claims and service requests can be handled directly and across all systems. Centralised and clearly structured working environment. Dealers gain clearly structured access to all relevant information and processes. Queries are reduced, workflows are accelerated, and the day-to-day workload is noticeably eased. At the same time, this frees up capacity for targeted support with more complex issues. With ExPort, AriensCo is clearly positioning itself as a customer-focused company. At its heart is a modern service process that simplifies workflows and makes collaboration with sales partners more efficient. At the same time, the platform lays the foundation for further digital development within the dealer network. "The biggest hurdle in a dealer's day-to-day work is not a lack of information, but access to it. Too many systems, too many logins. With ExPort, we bring everything together and create a central, clearly structured working environment for our sales partners," says Georg-Otto Fuchs, Senior Vice President R&D, Product Management & Marketing - EMEAA, summarising the benefits of the new dealer platform.

Ariens and Gravely partner with Octane and Huntington Bank for full-spectrum OPE financing

Octane, a fintech company, and Huntington Bank have partnered with outdoor power equipment manufacturers Ariens and Gravely to deliver a comprehensive financing platform for dealerships and customers. The Huntington Bank Powered by Octane programme enables dealers to manage sales and financing through a single platform, from prequalification to closing. Qualified applicants receive prime financing options through Huntington, whilst near-prime offers come from Octane's in-house lender. The system uses Octane's technology to provide instant credit decisions and streamlined documentation management. AriensCo, the manufacturer behind Ariens and Gravely equipment, says the partnership will improve approval rates and streamline processes for dealers. Founded in 2014, Octane has over 50 OEM partners and 4,000 dealer partners across automotive and lifestyle product financing.
