Requirements
  • An Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of excellent computer skills is required.
  • Candidates must be self-motivated, communicate effectively, and be willing to take on daily challenges.
  • Candidates must be familiar with micrometers and torque wrenches.
  • Candidates must be able to interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
  • Candidates must be able to operate shop equipment to assist in repair.
  • Candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Support the design, assembly, repair, and refurbishment of mechanical equipment and systems used in underground coal mining.
  • Perform hands-on mechanical and electrical work, measuring, and troubleshooting in a shop setting.
  • Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild mining equipment components.
  • Perform detailed inspections on mechanical parts.
  • See projects through from design and assembly to completion.
Desired Qualifications
  • AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent drafting experience is a plus.
