  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering, chemistry, environmental science, industrial hygiene, or occupational safety
  • Knowledge and ability to use industrial hygiene tools and monitors.
  • Expertise in writing technical reports.
  • Knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA and State of Florida regulations

  • Candidate must be able to lift/carry up to fifty pounds. Must be able to physically climb multiple flights stairs, withstand prolonged standing, and work in adverse weather conditions

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • 7+ years total work in EHS
  • 5+ years work experience in operational aerospace environment, manufacturing, or chemical industry
  • 10+ years total work in EHS (Desired)
  • 7+ years work experience in operational aerospace environment, manufacturing, or chemical industry (Desired)
  • Expertise in Life Safety Code (NFPA 101) (Desired)
  • ASP, CSP, CIH, or CHMM certification (Desired)
Responsibilities
  • Implements EHS programs for the evaluation and control of potential hazards including, but not limited to industrial hygiene; fall protection; confined space; lock out tag out; process safety management; hazard assessments; hearing conservation and noise hazards; heat stress; and environmental management.
  • Performs a wide range of EHS consultation services, which includes planning, managing, and reporting the results of assessments.
  • Provides subject matter expertise in design and test reviews.
  • Provides support to incidents, including spills; injuries, hazardous operations; launches; hurricanes; and other emergencies
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety, health, and environmental regulations at all Rocket Park facilities.
  • Prepare and submit reports to federal and state regulatory agencies as required
  • Continually update and ensure compliance with the Blue Origin processes and procedures
  • Indoctrinate new employees on our EHS Program
  • Assist in waste disposal activities including hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste, universal waste, and recycling materials
  • Contribute to the injury/illness and near miss reporting process
  • Develop, update, and deliver EHS training
  • Serve as site focal point for safety and environmental issues and concerns
  • Evaluate operations for continuous process improvement and implementation of preventive action measures
  • Supporting development of job hazard analyses and risk assessments
  • Provide subject matter expertise to engineering and production resources related to EHS
  • Provide EHS related input for building design and operations
  • Perform periodic audits of our Safety Programs
