Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a current Registered Nurse license in good standing with the State of Texas Board of Nursing.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification, First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and Emergency Behavior Intervention certification.
  • Fluency in English and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screens.
  • Proof of work eligibility upon request and successful completion of pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.
  • Ability to maintain computer literacy, work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, and make decisions in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professional composure.
  • Working knowledge of Compass Connections policies and procedures.
  • Current physical-medical release and proof of required immunizations, titers, or declinations, including MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis A, Tetanus, and PPD.
  • Ability to perform extensive walking, stretching, and bending and maintain professional oral, written, listening, and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Annual influenza vaccination or an approved medical or religious exemption.
Responsibilities
  • Meet and maintain all applicable federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards.
  • Provide telehealth triage services by assessing patient needs, evaluating symptoms, answering patient inquiries, providing patient teaching, and determining urgency and the appropriate course of action.
  • Conduct in-person and virtual assessments using established protocols and accurately document medical findings.
  • Gather, collect, and clarify patients’ current conditions and past medical histories.
  • Communicate concerning patient-health findings to the Medical Director as needed.
  • Communicate with RN Managers and other medical staff to devise individual plans of care and provide nursing support to medical staff.
  • Implement safety protocols, including evacuating with children and other staff during emergencies.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of health care records and information in accordance with HIPAA and Compass Connections confidentiality and personally identifiable information protocols.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize daily work using sound judgment.
  • Monitor established health care plans for the service population at assigned sites within timelines established by state and federal partners.
  • Ensure accurate documentation in accordance with agency policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, standards, and program timelines.
  • Meet program and federal-partner documentation and process requirements.
  • Address other assigned duties and unforeseen matters needed to maintain a functional program.
Desired Qualifications
  • Pediatric nursing experience.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification.
  • Meningococcal immunization.
