Requirements
  • IAAI-CFI certification is preferred.
  • Ability to perform fire investigations and consistently complete verbal and written reports according to Keystone’s quality and timeliness guidelines.
  • Willingness to travel to loss locations throughout the state of residence and surrounding states.
  • A private investigator license is required if the state requires one.
  • Thorough knowledge of NFPA 921 and NFPA 1033 is required.
  • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.
  • Ability to stay organized and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability and readiness to learn new skills and techniques.
Responsibilities
  • Determine the origin and cause of fire and explosion events at residential, commercial, and industrial sites, as well as vehicles, heavy machinery, farm equipment, and recreational vehicles.
  • Clearly convey investigation findings to clients verbally or in written reports within industry-leading turnaround times.
Desired Qualifications
  • Relevant higher education is preferred.
  • Membership in nationally recognized origin-and-cause organizations, such as IAAI or NAFI, is preferred.
  • Experience with Google Docs and other Google Workspace applications is a plus.
