Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Build long- and short-range flight schedules covering aircrew, instructor, evaluator, support personnel, and supervisor positions, coordinating with senior squadron leadership.
  • Build, publish, and maintain daily and long-range flying schedules to maximize pilot and aircrew utilization, ensure mission readiness, and comply with Air Force Instructions and squadron priorities.
  • Deconflict crewmember schedules and coordinate with flight leadership to ensure crews are available for assigned sortie taskings.
  • Facilitate last-minute schedule changes to ensure full coverage by coordinating with the mission commander, operations supervisor, and responsible flight.
  • Coordinate with Airfield Operations, Maintenance, Weather, and external range and airspace control agencies to deconflict flying schedules, secure training resources, and accommodate short-notice mission changes.
  • Obtain aircraft and equipment availability data from Maintenance and schedule crewmembers for training, exercises, simulators, and operations.
  • Publish and post long- and short-range ground, academic, flying, and simulator training schedules in PEX, GTIMS, GDSS II, or other database systems.
  • Maintain precise operational, scheduling, and training data in government-mandated systems to track aircrew currencies, ground-training requirements, and duty-day limitations.
  • Determine flight, ground, and simulator schedule requirements for upgrade, initial qualification, requalification, transition, currency, and continuation training based on syllabus requirements, student progression, weather, and resource availability.
  • Update scheduling data daily to account for changing conditions and training completion rates.
  • Assist operations leadership with schedule-related reporting and metrics, including daily and weekly tracking of continuation-training progress, execution rates, and aircrew readiness.
  • Perform mission-essential scheduling and administrative duties supporting dynamic flying operations and squadron management.
  • Update and maintain FLIP and Electronic Flight Bag procedures, systems, and databases in accordance with applicable Air Force Instructions.
  • Identify, address, and escalate Electronic Flight Bag requirements and concerns to leadership and the Major Command Electronic Flight Bag Program Manager.
  • Serve as the Wing Electronic Flight Bag system administrator by configuring, issuing, tracking, updating, and maintaining devices; may also serve as the Wing Mobile Device Management administrator.
  • Assist Technical Order Distribution Officers in providing aircrews with current electronic flight publications and guidance for keeping required publications current on Electronic Flight Bags.
  • Provide operational-assessment feedback and Electronic Flight Bag solution-development input to the Major Command Electronic Flight Bag Program Manager.
  • Assist with establishing an Electronic Flight Bag Program Manager organizational mailbox.
  • Assist with enforcing standardization and evaluation policy for the Electronic Flight Bag program, including currency of required flight publications.
  • Track crewmember leave, temporary duty, medical appointments, and other scheduling commitments.
  • Track daily flight, ground, and academic training requirements and accomplishments to support accurate flight scheduling.
  • Assist the operations officer in building the unit Annual Flying Hour Program.
  • Coordinate with the training officer to review and update student and permanent-party records, folders, and grade books in accordance with applicable Air Force Instructions and supplements.
  • Notify crewmembers, scheduling personnel, and unit leadership of upcoming and overdue testing, evaluation, and training requirements by email, telephone, or in person.
  • Perform testing-administrator duties for the unit.
  • Conduct monthly reviews of aircrews entering the first month of their evaluation eligibility period.
Desired Qualifications
  • Possesses a Top Secret clearance.
  • Experience working with PEX, GTIMS, or a similar proprietary scheduling program.
  • Experience working in a flying squadron, group, or wing standardization and evaluation office.
