Requirements
  • Minimum of three years of spa experience, preferably at a large resort spa.
  • First Aid/AED/CPR certification preferred, or willing to become certified.
  • Computer and technology proficient. Excel, Word, Outlook. (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Masterful at actively managing the spa schedule and supporting computer systems/POS.
  • Reliable and punctual. Being present in the workplace daily is key to success.
  • Ability to work under pressure with a high level of patience and calm demeanor.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, weekdays, and holidays if required.
  • Ability to sit, stand (for eight hours or more a day), reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, and pull items weighing 40 pounds or more.
  • Excellent English communication skills; both written and verbal. Bi-lingual a plus.
  • Proven leadership qualities. Ability to work cohesively with all Spa staff and co-workers as part of a team.
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated success at working multiple priorities simultaneously. Exercising good judgment with guest and employee situations and challenges.
Responsibilities
  • Oversees the timely scheduling of all LMTs following the guidelines set forth by management. Making necessary schedule adjustments as needed or in the event of a sick/injured/no show therapist.
  • Scheduling spa appointments so they optimize the LMT schedule and treatment room revenue.
  • Oversees all aspects of the yoga program including scheduling instructors, auditions, yurt cleanliness, ordering of equipment, etc.
  • Collaborates with the OSR LMT Liaison and Trainer on a regular basis. Upon request, assist the OSR LMT Liaison and Trainer to recruit and contract with LMTs and Yoga Instructors (e.g. independent contractors). Assists in providing training on departmental operations.
  • Handle site inspections for potential retreat hosts. Tours of the springs and spa for inquiring guests.
  • Promptly answers phones and returns calls to provide accurate spa and related resort information as needed.
  • Assists in the functionality and operations of the spa under the direction and in the absence of the Spa Manager and Assistant Spa Manager.
  • Communicates effectively in a timely manner with staff and management regarding the daily operations and issues that arise.
  • Assists Spa Management with spa activities, special projects, and other spa responsibilities as needed.
  • Greets guests with a sincere welcome and explain spa services, as needed.
  • Communicates with Spa Manager regarding any guest requests or problems in a timely manner.
  • Assists in hiring and training new employees by utilizing provided training manuals and checklists to ensure they understand the correct way of completing tasks.
  • Oversees and manages the work of reporting team members. Provides coaching opportunities for improvement. Encourages overall group cooperation.
  • Ensures locker rooms, relaxation rooms, springs facilities, and pool areas are spotlessly clean, well-stocked and safe.
  • Assists in monthly and quarterly department inventories of linens, yoga supplies, products, and supplies.
  • Reports work orders in a timely manner.
  • Incorporates the resort’s culture of service excellence, mission, and core values into all aspects of job performance.
