Requirements
  • The candidate must have 7+ years of enterprise software-as-a-service sales experience and a record of consistently exceeding quota in complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
  • The candidate must have proven success selling data platforms, operational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or cloud-native database-as-a-service offerings, or adjacent data and artificial intelligence infrastructure to technical buyers and business leaders.
  • The candidate must understand modern data and application architectures, including cloud-native services, microservices, event-driven systems, and the role of operational data in artificial intelligence and analytics strategies.
  • The candidate must be able to sell to technical stakeholders, including developers, architects, and data engineers, as well as business stakeholders, including product leaders, operations leaders, and line-of-business owners.
  • The candidate must have experience leading specialist or overlay sales motions jointly with core Account Executives to create and progress opportunities.
  • The candidate must demonstrate executive presence, including the ability to whiteboard architectures, lead C-level conversations, and build trust with senior decision-makers.
  • The candidate must have strong value-selling skills, including discovering customer pain, building business cases, and connecting technical capabilities to quantified outcomes.
  • The candidate must have communication, storytelling, and negotiation skills, with the ability to present to both large and small audiences.
  • The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
  • Drive new Lakebase revenue by identifying, qualifying, and closing opportunities within a defined territory in partnership with regional Account Executives and the broader account team.
  • Explain the value of fully managed PostgreSQL for intelligent applications and position Lakebase for operational workloads supporting real-time, artificial-intelligence-driven experiences.
  • Engage platform teams, developers, data teams, and central information technology stakeholders to demonstrate how Lakebase can accelerate feature delivery, simplify operational data architectures, and improve governance and cost efficiency.
  • Run complex, multi-threaded sales cycles from discovery and value hypothesis through commercial negotiation and close, engaging executive, technical, and line-of-business stakeholders.
  • Orchestrate proof-of-value exercises and proofs of concept for online transaction processing workloads, reverse extract-transform-load, and artificial-intelligence or machine-learning-driven applications with solution architects and specialists.
  • Compete against legacy and cloud-native operational databases using competitive assets, benchmarks, and customer references.
  • Align sales efforts with measurable outcomes such as performance, developer productivity, time to market, cost reduction, and simplification of the operational data landscape.
  • Partner with Product Management, Marketing, Customer Success, and Partner teams to shape territory plans, launch plays, and co-selling motions with key independent software vendors and global systems integrators.
  • Enable the broader field by sharing Lakebase best practices, success stories, and sales motions with sales teams.
  • Establish strategic focus accounts by engaging application development teams to create new intelligent applications leveraging Lakebase.
  • Drive PostgreSQL standardization and migration within strategic accounts.
  • Track revenue, pipeline, and key business observations at a business-unit level and identify areas needing additional focus or support.
  • Partner with account teams to engage priority accounts across the global DB700 and drive strategic opportunities from initial engagement through successful outcomes.
  • Build and execute enablement plans that help Account Executives and Solution Architects carry the Lakebase conversation independently.
  • Contribute to global ask-me-anything sessions and internal forums and represent Databricks at first-party and third-party events.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience selling PostgreSQL, operational databases, online transaction processing workloads, or transactional cloud database services within large or strategic accounts.
  • Familiarity with data platforms, lakehouse architectures, and cloud ecosystems including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Understanding of reverse extract-transform-load, real-time decisioning, and operational analytics use cases.
  • Exposure to artificial-intelligence-native and agent-driven applications that depend on low-latency, highly scalable operational data services.
  • Prior experience in a high-growth, category-creating environment shaping new sales plays, messaging, and customer narratives.
  • Experience collaborating with partners and independent software vendors to drive joint pipeline and co-selling motions.

Databricks hires ex-AWS executive to lead Asia partners amid 85% growth

Databricks has appointed former Amazon Web Services executive Briscoe to lead its Asia Pacific & Japan partner organisation. She previously headed AWS's partner operations in the region and held similar roles at Microsoft and Cisco. The move supports Databricks' regional expansion. In April, the company named Simon Davies as regional leader and reported over 85% year-on-year growth in its fourth quarter. It now has more than 1,500 employees across Asia Pacific & Japan and plans to establish headquarters in Singapore. Databricks works with over 1,000 partners regionally and 8,000 globally through its Brickbuilder Partner Network. The company's AWS business has surpassed a $1 billion run rate. International Data Corporation forecasts Asia/Pacific AI spending will reach $175 billion by 2028.

Coatue leads $3B Databricks investment at $134B valuation

Coatue Management is reportedly leading a $3 billion investment in Databricks, according to recent reports. The data analytics company previously raised roughly $5 billion earlier in 2026 at a $134 billion valuation. Databricks sells a lakehouse platform combining data lake and data warehouse capabilities and has expanded into AI software for enterprise applications. The company reported $5.4 billion in revenue run rate in February, up over 65% year on year, which grew to $6.9 billion by June. The earlier financing round included $2 billion in debt capacity intended to fund AI products, acquisitions and employee liquidity. At its current valuation, Databricks exceeds Snowflake's market capitalisation of approximately $83 billion. Management has indicated the company may remain private until market conditions improve.
