  • Work with the interdisciplinary process team to identify interfacial process parameters for the metallization, anti-reflective deposition, and emitter-formation diffusion modules.
  • Drive process characterization and design-of-experiments execution across paste formulation, mesh and emulsion parameters, squeegee dynamics, and firing profiles while managing silver diffusion and metal-silicon interfaces across distinct layers.
  • Qualify new paste materials and screen suppliers, working with vendors to evaluate and introduce next-generation metallization solutions.
  • Partner with equipment engineering teams to troubleshoot metallization-related yield losses and process excursions, including print quality defects, adhesion failures, contact-resistance variation, and firing-window issues.
  • Partner with Technology teams to develop future-state metallization process initiatives and optimize metallization-related process interactions with the Dallas solar module plant.
  • Support technology transfer and scale-up activities as G2 ramps to full production capacity.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with TOPCon or other advanced cell architectures, including PERC, HJT, or IBC.
  • Additional expertise with parameter-characterization tools such as TLM, pulling-force testers, vision systems, and four-point probes.

About the company

FREYR Battery makes battery cells for electric vehicles (EVs) and energy storage systems (ESS) using a Nordic supply chain and large-scale production in Mo i Rana, Northern Norway. The cells store chemical energy for repeated charge-discharge cycles and FREYR uses automated cathode casting to improve production efficiency and consistency, targeting longer cycle life, higher depth of discharge, better round-trip efficiency, and lower levelized cost of storage. Differentiators include a Nordic renewable-energy cluster and full regional supply chain that reduce costs, combined with scale and automation, plus plans to expand into the United States to broaden capacity and market reach. The goal is to provide high-quality, cost-effective battery cells for EVs and ESS while expanding production capacity and geographic reach with a focus on sustainability and profitability.

What believers are saying

  • Q2 2026 sales reached $250.1 million, while G1_Dallas produced 935 MW.
  • Clearway and Treaty Oak contracts give T1 near-term revenue visibility through 2027.
  • Mo i Rana approved 50 MW data-center use, monetizing stranded European assets.

What critics are saying

  • First Solar's 2026 ITC case can block TOPCon shipments before February 2027.
  • T1 still needs $200 million-$250 million for G2_Austin Phase 1 completion.
  • Convertible notes and follow-on equity show persistent dilution pressure into 2027.

What makes T1 Energy unique

  • G2_Austin plus 2026 Evervolt TOPCon patents create a domestic technology stack.
  • Clearway's 641 MW contract validates T1's U.S.-made solar supply chain.
  • Mo i Rana data-center rezoning preserves optionality across energy, storage, and infrastructure.

T1 Energy raises $160M at $4.96 per share, secures Norway data centre rezoning

T1 Energy raised approximately $160 million through a follow-on share sale at roughly $4.96 per share, shortly after securing rezoning approval for a potential data centre project in Mo i Rana, Norway. The company's share price has fallen 37.37% year to date and 42.03% over three months in 2026, despite delivering a one-year total shareholder return of 162.57%. The stock now trades around $4.91, well below the most followed analyst fair value estimate of $10.25 per share. Analysts point to US electricity demand growth driven by AI infrastructure, transport electrification, and manufacturing onshoring as key drivers for T1's solar modules and storage solutions business. However, the company faces risks from reliance on US policy incentives and intensive capital requirements for projects including G2_Austin.

T1 Energy gets approval to convert Norwegian facility into 50 MW data center

T1 Energy announced that local officials in Mo i Rana, Norway, have approved rezoning of part of its Giga Arctic facility for data center development. The company expects a 50 MW data center could become operational in 2027, with potential for expansion. T1 holds a position in the grid capacity queue for 396 MW total. The municipal committee approved a permit allowing 161,000 square feet of the campus to be rezoned for industrial use or data center operations. The site benefits from access to low-cost electricity supplied primarily by hydropower. T1 holds a 50-year lease on the location within an industrial park in northern Norway. The company is in discussions with multiple parties regarding the project as part of its value optimisation initiative for European assets.
