Requirements
  • A Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field is required.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on electrical hardware development experience.
  • Strong fundamentals in both digital and analog circuit design.
  • Demonstrated ability to personally take printed circuit board assemblies from schematic design and printed circuit board layout through fabrication, bring-up, debugging, and test.
  • Deep technical expertise in at least one area such as power electronics, radio frequency, field-programmable gate array-based systems, high-speed digital, motor control, or another relevant electrical engineering domain.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical decisions and raise the capability of other engineers through design reviews, debugging, and hands-on technical guidance.
  • Strong practical experience with Altium or similar electronic computer-aided design tools, printed circuit board fabrication and assembly, and electrical laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to drive technical work across multiple engineering disciplines and stakeholders under incomplete or changing requirements.
  • At least 1 year of full-time experience at an early-stage hardware startup, ideally Seed through Series B.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance if required for the role.
Responsibilities
  • Own electrical hardware from digital and analog circuit design through schematic capture, printed circuit board layout, fabrication, bring-up, integration, and test.
  • Design, review, and debug printed circuit board assemblies using Altium or similar electronic computer-aided design tools and standard electrical laboratory equipment.
  • Serve as a technical leader in at least one specialized electrical domain and drive difficult architecture and design decisions in that area.
  • Lead design reviews and help other engineers solve complex electrical hardware problems through practical technical guidance.
  • Drive cross-functional decisions across mechanical, firmware, software, systems, manufacturing, suppliers, and test teams.
  • Make practical trade-offs across performance, reliability, manufacturability, component availability, thermal constraints, schedule, and cost.
  • Lead root-cause investigations and corrective design changes when hardware fails during bring-up, integration, or testing.
  • Continuously improve how the team designs and builds hardware rather than relying on established methods simply because they worked before.

GITAI completes S3 robotic satellite for on-orbit servicing, delays launch to prioritise US Space Force contract

GITAI USA has completed the flight model of its S3 robotic satellite, designed to demonstrate on-orbit servicing technologies and validate the company's modular spacecraft architecture for future defence-focused low Earth orbit constellation services. The S3 mission comprises a robotic servicing satellite with an advanced robotic arm and autonomous docking capabilities, alongside a target satellite. It will demonstrate autonomous rendezvous, docking with non-cooperative satellites, robotic servicing operations and controlled de-orbit capabilities. The spacecraft and robotic systems were developed entirely in-house. GITAI originally planned to launch the mission in October 2026 on SpaceX's Transporter-18, but has deferred the launch until after 2028 to prioritise its contract with the US Space Force's Space-Based Interceptor programme. The modular platform will support missile defence, communications and observation missions.
