About the job

Requirements
  • At least 6 years of product design experience.
  • Experience designing complex products across multiple companies, ideally in B2B SaaS, systems-heavy products, or operational internal tools, with ownership from problem definition through launch.
  • A portfolio demonstrating product thinking, polished user-interface craft, reasoning behind the work, and results achieved.
  • Experience designing both product interfaces and brand and marketing materials.
  • Strong research instincts and the ability to run user sessions independently.
  • Fluency in Figma for interface design and prototyping, and comfort with the broader design toolkit for brand and marketing work.
  • Comfort using current AI tools such as Cursor, GPT, and Claude as part of the design practice, and judgment about their limitations.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively in a cross-functional, fast-moving team.
Responsibilities
  • Shape product direction based on deep knowledge of the people who use the products.
  • Own design across user-facing products end to end, from research and problem framing through specification, launch, and iteration.
  • Lead research directly by observing referral coordinators and phone staff, learning how they work, and translating findings into product direction.
  • Create polished, trustworthy interfaces suited to dense, high-pressure clinical operations.
  • Partner with founders, product, and engineering to set product vision and roadmap.
  • Prototype quickly, in code or other effective formats, to help the team react, align, and build the right product faster.
  • Own brand and marketing design, including sales one-pagers, pitch and partner decks, and the website.
  • Deliver high-quality work quickly in an early-stage, often ambiguous environment.
  • Design a referral-matching tool that helps referral coordinators process incoming referrals and schedule patients with appropriate providers using fragmented rules and provider availability.
  • Design a call-logs workflow that makes large volumes of patient conversations readable, trustworthy, and actionable.
  • Create analytics dashboards that consolidate fragmented usage data and provide internal teams and health system partners visibility into system health and performance.
  • Shape the company brand and website for health systems, including sales one-pagers.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience building a product from 0 to 1 at an early-stage startup, balancing fast shipping with long-term product development.

About the company

It uses clinically intelligent AI agents and optimization algorithms to automate 24/7 patient triage, appointment scheduling, referral processing, and follow-up coordination for diagnostics and care plans. The platform is designed for rapid deployment—its AI agents can be trained and running within 48 hours—and targets health systems, multispecialty clinics, and large providers. Sage Care aims to boost provider revenue by 15-20% through better care coordination, fewer no-shows, and more efficient patient flow.

What believers are saying

  • Sage launched October 17, 2025 with $20 million from Yosemite and General Catalyst.
  • Jiva Health, Bronson Healthcare, and White Plains Hospital provide real enterprise validation.
  • Forbes reported $5 million 2026 revenue expectations, signaling early commercial traction.

What critics are saying

  • Epic and major EHR vendors already own scheduling and referral workflows.
  • CMS prior-authorization API mandates starting January 1, 2027 commoditize parts of Sage's value.
  • If Bronson or White Plains pilots stall, Sage becomes another underpenetrated workflow startup.

What makes Sage Care unique

  • Justin Ho, Caesar Djavaherian, and Chris Blumenberg combine logistics, clinical, and systems expertise.
  • Sage Care orchestrates calls, triage, scheduling, referrals, and follow-ups across health systems.
  • The platform claims 48-hour deployment and health-system workflow integration, not generic chat support.
