About the job
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience working in community outreach, customer relations, and/or community-based programs is required.
- Previous experience working and communicating with people on a one-to-one basis is required.
- Must be a local resident of the community in which they will work and know the surrounding areas and location.
- Must have dependable transportation, a Texas driver's license, and auto liability insurance.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position and meet its attendance requirements.
- Must not pose a threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds unassisted.
- Identify potential clients for Union Medical Care Center and inform the local public about available services and programs.
- Conduct an active outreach effort by meeting clients in the field rather than in traditional settings.
- Perform community outreach at homes through door-to-door interaction, schools, churches, agency sites, and health fairs.
- Develop and implement effective outreach strategies.
- Follow up with clients through phone, mail, and door-to-door contact.
- Monitor, document, and report on the effectiveness of outreach strategies with clients and activities.
- Participate in community meetings and events to represent the organization.
- Post informational posters, flyers, and brochures at local stores, community centers, schools, and churches.
- Maintain knowledge of programs, community resources, and services available to clients and patients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bilingual English and Spanish is preferred.
