  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of child care experience working in a licensed Ohio Department of Job and Family Services child care program.
  • Experience teaching and working with children between the ages of 6 weeks to 2 years of age.
  • Current physical and ability to pass a Bureau of Criminal Investigation/Federal Bureau of Investigation background check.
  • Basic language, written, and computer skills necessary for communication and documentation.
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for infants and young children.
  • Interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to create a warm, nurturing, and responsive environment for children and families.
  • Ability to maintain punctuality and daily attendance and a good work record.
  • Current legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Tdap and MMR vaccination.

  • Ability to kneel, bend, squat, stand, and sit on child-sized furniture or on the floor for extended periods.
  • Ability to repetitively lift and move children weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfort working in a moderate to noisy environment.
  • Preparedness to assist children in emergency situations.
  • Physical ability to stay within arm's reach of children to ensure proximity and safety.
  • Ability to participate in safety drills and relocate children, including moving cribs with multiple children to designated safe areas.
  • Endurance to work outdoors in varying conditions and temperatures for prolonged durations throughout all seasons.
Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to design and execute daily activities and routines catering to each child's needs.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy learning environment while adhering to licensing and accreditation standards.
  • Assist in planning and implementing educational and recreational activities that develop children's physical, emotional, social, and intellectual capabilities.
  • Ensure play, sleep, and changing areas are sanitized and kept clean.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with families, providing updates on children's progress and developmental milestones.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and staff meetings to remain current on best practices in early childhood education.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Child Development Associate, Associate of Arts, or higher degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
