Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Music, Sacred Music, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated proficiency in at least one primary accompaniment instrument, piano or organ, with the ability to play both contemporary and traditional liturgical music.
- A minimum of three years of experience directing music programs and serving as an accompanist in a church, chapel, or similar environment.
- Proven ability to select, arrange, and direct music for various services, ceremonies, and special events in accordance with liturgical seasons and traditions.
- Experience supervising and rehearsing volunteer or paid choirs, ensembles, or soloists.
- Strong sight-reading skills to support live performance adjustments during services.
- Ability to work collaboratively with chaplains, clergy, and other worship leaders to plan and execute musical elements of services.
- Familiarity with multiple worship styles and ability to transition between them as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide musical leadership and accompaniment for Catholic worship services, including Sunday Mass and special events.
- Coordinate weekly with the Catholic Chaplain or designee to select liturgically appropriate music that aligns with the chaplain's vision.
- Conduct weekly rehearsals, excluding the day of service, and ensure song selections are distributed to the Worship Team at least 24 hours prior to rehearsal.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of musical equipment as needed.
- Maintain punctuality by arriving at least 10 minutes before rehearsals and 30 minutes before services or special events.
- Maintain a written log of all work performed under the contract.
