Requirements
  • Two to four years of experience with different types of broadcast and multimedia production, including video, audio, and graphics.
  • Functional to advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications including Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Audition; Avid; and DaVinci Resolve.
  • Experience operating professional camcorders and digital single-lens reflex cameras, including Sony FX6, Sony Z280, Canon, Blackmagic, and Panasonic equipment.
  • Knowledge of field-production lighting, audio-recording equipment, and related gear.
  • Knowledge of control-room operations, including switchers and audio boards for live and recorded shows.
  • Knowledge of green-screen and studio-production environments.
  • Knowledge of livestreams and virtual-production environments.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Personal computer and Mac computer skills.
  • Ability to drive, stand, walk, and sit for up to eight hours.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work from the office in Austin, Texas.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • A valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and a clean driving record.
Responsibilities
  • Administer the development and production of promotional content for news and commercials across television, radio, digital, print, local live broadcast events, and station event activations.
  • Write scripts, perform studio and field camera work, edit video and audio, and manipulate design and motion graphics.
  • Take projects from start to finish under minimal supervision and maximize the use of multimedia resources.
  • Execute operational needs for activations, promotions, production, and special events while reporting to the Director of Operations.
  • Shoot and edit commercials for clients and coach them during production to improve on-camera performance and visual storytelling.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand client visions and develop engaging multimedia solutions.
  • Plan, shoot, edit, and produce multimedia content including videos, animations, graphics, and audio materials.
  • Oversee the production process from conceptualization through final delivery and ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Develop storyboards, scripts, and visual concepts.
  • Work with marketing and news teams to align content with brand identity and objectives.
  • Adapt multimedia content for websites, social media, presentations, and live events.
  • Operate professional cameras, lighting, sound equipment, and editing software.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Guide clients through the commercial production process and help them deliver their messages effectively.
  • Assist the activations team as needed.
  • Manage internal production workflow through VPPO and VPromo, gather metrics, evaluate station goals each quarter, and create a customer-service environment for sales by executing local production needs.
  • Oversee station events and special executions of local campaigns to maximize promotional and executional impact using operational resources.
Desired Qualifications
  • A preferred bachelor's degree or equivalent exposure to Multimedia Productions and Digital Media.
  • Proficiency in written and oral Spanish and English.
  • Experience in commercial production, marketing, or working with sales.
  • Experience with production coordination.
  • Knowledge of vCreative, Smartsheet, iNews, VizRT, and news-gathering tools.
  • Knowledge of 3D animation with Cinema 4D.

TelevisaUnivision US ad revenue drops 29% to $323M amid World Cup competition

TelevisaUnivision's US advertising revenue fell 29% to $323.3 million in the second quarter, hit by cyclical headwinds and competition from NBCUniversal's Telemundo, which aired the FIFA World Cup. Telemundo generated $403.6 million in advertising revenue from the tournament between 11 June and 19 July, according to iSpot.tv estimates. The decline was offset by stronger performance in Mexico, where TelevisaUnivision holds World Cup broadcast rights. Mexican advertising revenue rose 23% to $353 million. Overall company advertising revenue dropped 9% to $676.3 million. However, subscription and licensing revenue climbed 40% to $621 million, boosted by sublicensing World Cup rights to Latin American countries and growth in the ViX streaming service. Total revenue across both markets increased 10% to $1.33 billion.
