Field Engineer Technician
About the job
- Two years of construction or surveying experience using total stations and site levels.
- Complete understanding of surveying mathematics.
- Ability to remain agile and mobile, stay alert, stand or walk for long periods, and use fingers, hands, and arms to reach, handle, and manipulate objects.
- Ability to climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects; work on uneven surfaces and at heights; read and write; and see and hear well either naturally or with correction.
- Ability to lift and carry materials of all shapes and sizes weighing 50–100 pounds 75% of the time.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Operate total station instruments, transits, automatic levels, and other surveying instruments.
- Set and mark stakes for slopes, grades, and other construction purposes.
- Determine lines, corners, elevations, grades, alignments, angles, positions, and distances.
- Maintain the total station and field book.
- Maintain survey equipment and tools.
- Ability to work in an Occupational Safety and Health Administration-compliant safety environment.
- Ability to work outside.
- Ability to work overtime and weekend hours.
- Punctuality and promptness every day.
