Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Formal training in a machine shorthand or voice writing program is required.
  • Experience using computer equipment is required.
  • The candidate must possess a Kansas Certified Court Reporter certificate or be eligible to obtain a temporary certificate in compliance with applicable Kansas Supreme Court rules.
Responsibilities
  • Report judicial proceedings verbatim at high rates of speed.
  • Prepare complete and accurate reports of proceedings and verbatim transcripts as required.
  • Maintain electronic backup storage of proceedings.
  • Keep all exhibits in possession until otherwise requested by the court.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the chief judge or designee.
  • Perform work according to procedures established by the district judges and chief clerk administrator.
  • Review completed work for accuracy and content.
