About the company

GRAIL develops blood-based cancer tests that aim to detect cancer at its earliest stages. The tests use high-intensity sequencing to analyze large amounts of tumor genome data from a blood sample and apply advanced algorithms and deep learning to identify signals indicating cancer. Revenue comes from selling these tests to healthcare providers and research institutions, with potential expansion to direct-to-consumer sales in the future. Compared with others, GRAIL combines extensive sequencing data with clinical studies and sophisticated analytics to provide actionable cancer-detection results, focusing on early diagnosis. The company’s goal is to lower global cancer mortality by catching the disease early when treatment is more effective.

GRAIL gets $110M Samsung investment as new Galleri trial data lifts cancer test case

GRAIL has reported new clinical data for its Galleri multi-cancer early detection test from the NHS-Galleri trial and the PATHFINDER 2 study. The results point to fewer late-stage diagnoses, low false positive rates, and accurate Cancer Signal Origin prediction. The company plans to present further results at the EDCC and ESMO conferences in October 2026. They will cover detection across more than 200 cancers and performance across racial and ethnic groups. Samsung entities also made a $110 million equity investment in GRAIL to support commercialisation in South Korea and other Asian markets. Challenges remain. GRAIL still burns cash, and it needs US Food and Drug Administration decisions and broad payer coverage.

Genesis brings cancer tests covering 50 types to Brazil.

Genesis brings cancer tests covering 50 types to Brazil. Genesis Genomics, a joint venture between Fleury and Einstein Hospital Israelita, has signed an exclusive agreement with American biotech company Grail to sell in Brazil a blood test capable of detecting approximately 50 types of early-stage cancer, including pancreatic, liver, and ovarian tumors, for which there are currently no screening procedures. "Galleri is a screening test that detects tumors using DNA changes. If the result is positive, the patient needs to undergo other specific tests," said Paulo Campreger, CEO of Genesis Genomics. Dr. Sidney Kliner, president of Einstein, emphasized that the Galleria test "adds to existing [cancer] screening strategies" and should not replace other screening methods. "The test is intended for asymptomatic people over 50, who are associated with increased cancer incidence," Kliner said. The tests are available and sold for R$6,990 at Einstein and Fleury stores. In the future, the medical diagnostics network also plans to offer the test through other laboratory brands within its group. The test is not covered by health insurance plans or Brazil's public health system (SUS). In the United States, where the test was launched in 2021, some companies have begun offering it, citing prevention as a potential way to reduce medical costs by avoiding late-stage diagnoses. Priority Health, a Michigan-based insurer, is already offering Galleri to its membership group and its employees. As a result, demand for this test is growing. "In the United States, 185,000 tests were conducted in 2025. In the first six months of this year alone, that number has already reached 117,000, a 42% increase over the same period in 2025," said Jean Tsutsui, CEO of Fleury. Kampreger explained that Galleri differs from hereditary genetic tests, which identify a patient's predisposition to developing a disease. The new test reveals whether a DNA alteration is already present. Further research is necessary, as a molecular change could have occurred and then been corrected by the immune system itself. "This new screening test is recommended to be taken once a year after age 50 or for patients with a family history," said Genesis Genomics CEO. As Brazil's population ages, the number of cancer cases is rising. According to the National Cancer Institute of Brazil (INCA), the country is expected to register 781,000 new cases annually between 2026 and 2028. Genesis Genomics currently processes all genetic tests for Einstein and Fleury and is gaining new business using screening tests. Financial details of the commercial agreement with the American company were not disclosed. Revenue from sales of Galleri tests at the American company Grail increased by 30% to $82.5 million. ad unit: 1 / 4

3 reasons to buy Grail (GRAL) hand over fist in october.

3 reasons to buy Grail (GRAL) hand over fist in october. The cancer blood test maker could have a bright future. By Leo Sun - Sep 30, 2026 at 1:15PM EST Key points. * Grail's stock recently hit its all-time high. * If the FDA approves Galleri, it still looks reasonably valued. * 10 stocks The Motley Fool, LLC like better than Grail" Grail (GRAL +2.60%), which was spun off from Illumina (ILMN +0.62%) in 2024, develops a blood test for detecting signals from dozens of cancers before any symptoms appear. Its stock endured some wild swings over the past two years, but it now trades near a record high. Let's see why Grail's stock is soaring - and the three main reasons it's still worth buying today. 1. Grail already generates plenty of revenue. Grail isn't a speculative, pre-revenue company. The FDA hasn't approved Grail's Galleri blood test yet. Still, it's already sold on a cash-only basis (for $749 to $949) to independent customers, select employers, hospital pilot programs, and telehealth services. Grail's revenue from those cash sales rose from $93 million in 2023 to $147 million in 2025, and analysts expect that figure to rise 23% to $181 million in 2026. In the first half of 2026, Galleri's test volume grew 42% year over year to over 117,000 tests. If the FDA approves Galleri, its addressable market would significantly expand through private insurance and Medicare plans. Premium Feature Moneyball Superscore Today's Change (2.60%) $3.55 Current Price Key data points. Market Cap Day's Range $136.00 - $151.46 52wk Range $41.50 - $151.46 Gross Margin 2. A premarket approval could come in 2027. Back in February, Grail suffered a major setback after its largest NHS England trial failed to meet its primary endpoint. That trial wasn't a total failure - since it achieved earlier detection rates for the deadliest cancers - but it reduced its chances of a brisk FDA approval. But in late September, an FDA panel endorsed a premarket approval for Galleri with three votes. The FDA panel voted affirmatively on these three questions: whether Galleri was safe for patients who met its criteria, if it was effective, and if its benefits outweighed the risks. Those endorsements were non-binding, but they could support its premarket approval by 2027. 3. Grail's stock still looks reasonably valued. From 2025 to 2028, analysts expect Grail's revenue to grow at a 25% CAGR to $286 million. With a market cap of $6.1 billion, it already trades at 21 times its 2028 sales. Where to invest $1,000 right now. When its analyst team has a stock tip, it can pay to listen. After all, Stock Advisor's total average return is 933%* - a market-crushing outperformance compared to 212% for the S&P 500. They just revealed what they believe are the 10 best stocks for investors to buy right now, available when you join Stock Advisor. *Stock Advisor returns as of September 30, 2026. That price-to-sales ratio might seem high, but most analysts' estimates are still based on its cash-only sales rather than a full FDA approval. If the FDA approves Galleri ahead of schedule, and it's widely adopted as a covered cancer detection test, it could crush Wall Street's forecasts. Therefore, Grail could actually be a bargain relative to its long-term growth potential. It's not a stock for queasy investors, but it's worth buying today if you can tune out the near-term noise. Should you buy stock in Grail right now? Before you buy stock in Grail, consider this: The Motley Fool Stock Advisor analyst team just identified what they believe are the 10 best stocks for investors to buy now... and Grail wasn't one of them.
