  • A master's degree in Accounting, or a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in accounting, is required for transfer courses.
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in accounting, is required for workforce courses.
  • An associate degree in Accounting and three years of non-teaching work experience is an alternative requirement for workforce courses.
  • At least three years of non-teaching accounting work experience are required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using computer applications, online resources, and other classroom technologies is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using an online learning management system such as Blackboard to develop and build course content and perform administrative duties is required.
  • Applicants must provide unofficial or copied transcripts, an updated curriculum vitae or résumé, and a cover letter explaining their interest in the position.
  • Applicants must request official electronic transcripts to be sent directly from their institution to the specified Human Resources email address.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and teach accounting courses to a multicultural student population using department-approved course learning outcomes, varied instructional strategies, and discipline standards.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback reflecting program learning outcomes and departmental expectations.
  • Provide teaching and mentoring services to students without discrimination based on protected characteristics.
  • Remain current in accounting through professional development activities.
  • Perform other related tasks assigned by the department chair, dean, or academic leadership.
  • Meet deadlines for attendance certification and submission of final course grades.
  • Maintain regular office hours to assist students and improve student retention and success.
  • Use civility and collegiality in all interactions.
  • Comply with published college policies, procedures, and professional standards for community-college teaching.
  • Use the college's learning management system appropriately.
  • Perform work safely, follow safety rules, report unsafe conditions or behavior, and take reasonable actions to prevent unsafe practices.
