About the job
- At least one year of experience coding inpatient and outpatient Evaluation and Management services.
- Experience coding procedures.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in all aspects of job performance.
- Ability to work normal business hours Monday through Friday.
- Perform coding services and audit documentation before claims are submitted.
- Audit medical provider clinical documentation for inpatient and outpatient services while adhering to Medicare guidelines.
- Review documentation and identify areas for documentation improvement.
- Communicate effectively with providers regarding documentation improvement.
- Ensure providers enter the correct coding and add modifiers as needed.
- Partner with providers and staff to improve coding and documentation quality and efficiency.
- Maintain Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act privacy guidelines.
- Remain current in coding rules and guidelines.
