Requirements
  • Ability to work on-site in a lab environment 5 days/week
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledgeable about safety protocols
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and make quality decisions without negative impact on others
  • Ability to work well with cross-functional teams to achieve desired results
  • Experience with Engineering Documentation Control, G-Suite, Jira
  • Experience resolving routine issues and escalating other issues to the appropriate individual in a timely manner
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to travel within the United States or internationally as needed
  • Experience supporting Launch Integration
Responsibilities
  • Support the Acceptance, Testing and & Integration (AI&T) line of Planet’s next satellite constellation
  • Coordinate and lead the execution of environmental test campaign
  • Participate in the planning and coordination of test campaigns
  • Support functional and environmental testing
  • Assist with test fixture development/requirements/assembly
  • Perform Environmental Lab maintenance
  • Design and test equipment and infrastructure for the transportation of spacecraft and subsystems
  • Implement 5s methodology in the qual lab and model shop
  • Design, assemble and test the tools & equipment required to support spacecraft launch integration
  • Support Launch Integration
Desired Qualifications
  • Hands-on Spacecraft assembly and testing experience
  • Experience with lab equipment - thermal chambers, TVAC chambers, vibration tables
  • CAD Experience
  • 3d printer operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Comfortable working in an agile, fast-paced environment
  • Proficiently use various mechanical tools and heavy machinery
  • Proven ability to provide solutions to address and unblock dynamic situations

These satellites provide near-daily, 8-band imagery, allowing clients to monitor environmental changes, manage natural resources, plan urban developments, and respond to disasters. Clients, which include government agencies, environmental organizations, and businesses, subscribe to access Planet's extensive library of images and data analytics tools. This subscription-based model ensures consistent revenue as clients require updated imagery for their operations. Planet also offers customized solutions for specific image requests and educational resources through Planet School to help users effectively utilize their platform. The company's goal is to lead in the geospatial intelligence market by providing comprehensive and timely satellite imagery to support various applications.
