We’re looking for a versatile, professional writer/editor to generate thoughtful, compelling, and polished content that will help our products and services stand out in competitive markets.
This member of the Marketing team will guide, elevate, and author a variety of strategic and compelling editorial content, including marketing materials, pitch decks, emails, white papers, collateral, video, and more for a variety of online and offline channels. Additional responsibilities include working with internal stakeholders to orchestrate integrated campaigns and develop, measure and prioritize content. This candidate will work closely with the Marketing team to help unify content standards and best practices while building a consistent brand voice. In this role, it will be imperative to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the company and to produce high-quality content that’s pitch perfect and aligned with internal team goals and company-wide business objectives.

- Create, measure, connect and grow the critically important body of partner messaging and creative campaign initiatives
- Develop differentiated, compelling marketing narratives and product stories; writing messaging for product launches and partner sustainment across various channels
- Collaborate cross-functionally throughout Marketing and Sales—from field sales support to strategic sales, training, business intelligence, and more.
- Help continually evolve public website content
- Execute, refine and manage all partner facing collateral content
- Maintain, organize, document, and create templates for process standardization around new and evolving needs and deliverables
- Brainstorm and develop fresh stories and messages to build and engage new audiences
- Introduce new products, features, success stories, and original research
- Become an editorial expert and go-to resource for marketing and other Alarm.com teams
- Build your marketing career in a new tech category that protects and enhances people’s lives

You’ll Need:
- A Bachelor’s degree coupled with 15+ years of online copywriting / journalism experience with a minimum of 5 years of editing experience. Master’s degree a plus.
- Proven experience managing direct reports
- A love of the writer’s craft, plus a critical eye for art and style
- A standout portfolio covering demonstrating writing excellence and critical thinking
- A talent for multitasking, managing multiple projects, and achieving results at a fast pace
- Curiosity about different audiences, technologies, industries and cultures
- An aptitude for brainstorming and big-picture thinking, but also for details, deadlines, and goal-orientation
- Superb communications skills, including writing, verbal, editing and presenting—balancing strategic thinking with tactical execution
- A highly organized approach to your work and a strict attention to detail
