About the Job

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of construction site management experience, including at least 3 years focused on mission-critical, data center, or industrial startup and commissioning environments.
  • A proven track record coordinating multi-trade, multi-stakeholder job sites through substantial completion, startup, and commissioning to occupancy or Ready for Service.
  • Working knowledge of data center mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems—including electrical distribution and switchgear, uninterruptible power supplies, generators, cooling plants and computer room air handling or air conditioning systems, and building or electrical power monitoring controls—sufficient to coordinate startup sequencing with the commissioning authority and trades.
  • Familiarity with commissioning process frameworks such as ASHRAE Guideline 0/1.1 and Level 1–5 commissioning, and ability to translate commissioning requirements into field execution plans.
  • Strong scheduling capability using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools, and experience managing look-ahead schedules across general contractor and subcontractor crews.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, and third-party commissioning agents simultaneously.
  • OSHA 30 certification or willingness to obtain it, and a strong site safety leadership background.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfort presenting schedule and risk status to customer and executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to walk active construction sites, climb ladders and stairs, and work in mechanical and electrical spaces under construction; personal protective equipment is required at all times.
  • Availability for extended hours, weekend work, and short-notice work during critical energization and testing windows.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Armada's primary on-site point of contact and coordinate daily activities across the customer's general contractor, general-contractor-managed subcontractors, and Armada's subcontracted trades.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce integrated site logistics plans, look-ahead schedules, and work sequencing across multiple concurrent trade crews.
  • Chair or participate in daily and weekly coordination meetings, including owner-architect-contractor meetings, trade-stacking meetings, and site safety huddles, to align general contractor, subcontractor, and commissioning schedules.
  • Identify and resolve field conflicts involving space, sequencing, access, and utility tie-ins before they affect the schedule.
  • Track and drive closure of punch lists, requests for information, and deficiency logs tied to startup readiness.
  • Maintain daily site reports, photo documentation, and progress logs for internal and customer stakeholders.
  • Serve as the field liaison to the commissioning authority, ensuring construction completion aligns with the Level 1–5 commissioning sequence.
  • Coordinate system turnover packages, startup sequencing, and system-by-system readiness with mechanical, electrical, controls, and fire/life safety trades.
  • Support and track execution of pre-functional checklists, functional performance testing, and integrated systems testing.
  • Escalate and manage resolution of commissioning-driven punch items, ensuring trades remobilize quickly to close gaps.
  • Partner with the commissioning authority, engineers of record, and original equipment manufacturer startup technicians to sequence equipment energization, startup, and testing safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain visibility into the master commissioning schedule and proactively flag risks to the Ready for Service date.
  • Enforce site safety programs across all trades on site, including general-contractor-managed and Armada-managed crews, in line with customer and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards; support quality assurance and quality control inspections and documentation.
  • Support permitting, inspection, and Authority Having Jurisdiction coordination as needed to support system energization and occupancy.
  • Act as a trusted technical and field representative across customer general contractor leadership, subcontractor superintendents, commissioning authority teams, and Armada leadership.
  • Provide regular progress updates, schedule risk assessments, and Ready for Service readiness reporting to Armada project leadership and the customer.
  • Support change management by ensuring field changes are documented and routed through proper approval channels.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with hyperscale or colocation data center construction and startup programs.
  • Working knowledge of building automation and controls systems and integrated systems testing processes.
  • Existing relationships with major data center general contractors, commissioning authority firms, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trade contractors.
  • PMP, commissioning authority, or Certified Construction Manager certification.
  • Experience owning or supporting Ready for Service and turnover documentation packages, including operations and maintenance manuals, as-builts, and warranty documentation.
