Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science and 2 to 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
  • Two to four years of related experience.
  • Comfort with full-stack development and unit testing.
  • Strong knowledge of web standards including HTML5, CSS, AJAX, JavaScript, jQuery, and browser-specific compatibility issues.
  • Fluency in secure dynamic scripting languages such as Python, model-view-controller web frameworks such as Django, and modern front-end development such as React.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, comfort working collaboratively and iteratively within project teams, and ability to provide regular status updates on progress.
  • Good understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.
  • Experience gathering and responding to project requirements.
  • Ability to work independently to produce polished, high-quality results.
  • Ability to work from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain a rich-client web-based application to support research and student learning.
  • Gather project requirements, write and test software, and generate technical documents under the supervision of the project directors and technical director.
  • Develop and maintain GIS-based visualizations and features that surface and support interaction with a large data set.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience with digital humanities projects.
  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence and machine learning frameworks as they relate to agentic artificial intelligence architecture and implementation and data quality initiatives.
  • Basic knowledge of Hebrew.
