  • Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field, Master’s or PhD preferred.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) managing data science teams or similar technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of data science methodologies, tools, and techniques, with the ability to provide high-level technical guidance.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills, with a track record of developing and motivating individuals to achieve their full potential.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to prioritize initiatives, allocate resources effectively, and drive results in line with business objectives.
  • Experience in the healthcare or wearable device industry is a plus.
Responsibilities
  • People Management: Mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing team of data scientists and research scientists.
  • Program Management: Oversee the execution of multiple data science projects within the Data Science Health Team.
  • Resource Allocation: Optimize resource allocation to maximize team efficiency and project outcomes.
  • Roadmapping: Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and maintain a comprehensive roadmap for the Health Team's data science initiatives.
  • Dependency Management: Identify and mitigate dependencies across projects to minimize risks and ensure smooth execution.
  • Team Support: Act as a supportive leader, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
  • Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for communicating project status, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership and stakeholders.

WHOOP 4.0 is a fitness and health wearable that utilizes advanced biometric tracking, including skin temperature, blood oxygen levels, and heart rate, to monitor sleep, recovery, training, and health, providing personalized recommendations and coaching feedback. This technology offers in-depth insights and actionable data to optimize performance and well-being.
