About the job

Requirements
  • At least 7 years of experience in enterprise B2B software sales or business development, with a strong record of personally closing significant agreements and exceeding revenue targets.
  • Demonstrated success building deep enterprise relationships and expanding them into substantial new business, including introducing new products or securing broader adoption.
  • Experience leading complex, competitive software evaluations involving formal requests for proposals, cross-functional buying committees, and multiple levels of approval.
  • Ability to earn credibility with senior executives and frontline teams, paired with genuine curiosity about how their businesses work.
  • Strong discovery, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills, including the ability to build a persuasive business case for meaningful operational change.
  • Proactive approach to managing relationships: staying close to customers, recognizing risks early, and identifying opportunities before they become formal requests.
  • Experience working with Product, Engineering, and other internal teams to address customer requirements and communicate technical capabilities and commitments accurately.
  • Self-directed, entrepreneurial approach: identifying opportunities, creating a plan, and making progress without waiting for direction.
  • Exceptional preparation, responsiveness, and follow-through, including keeping commitments and ensuring next steps happen.
  • Experience owning an enterprise customer relationship management system and pipeline, leading pipeline reviews, and delivering clear forecasts, opportunities, and risks to executive leadership, with strong discipline around data quality and follow-through.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to turn complex customer needs into clear recommendations.
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to travel regularly for customer meetings, practice visits, and industry events.
  • Interest in improving veterinary care through technology; veterinary industry experience is welcome but not required, and the candidate should be able to learn a new industry deeply.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
Responsibilities
  • Develop lasting connections with executive leaders, operational teams, and key decision-makers; spend time with customers in person, including at their practices, to understand how their organizations work and what matters to them.
  • Learn each customer group's priorities, workflows, challenges, and future technology needs; identify opportunities to expand adoption of Vetcove's platforms and develop new ways to work together.
  • Own enterprise expansion opportunities from discovery through close, with an individual revenue target; build compelling business cases, create momentum, and lead negotiations that result in successful agreements.
  • Guide customers through product evaluations, requests for proposals, demonstrations, and technical reviews; understand the buying process, build internal champions, and align executive, operational, financial, and technical stakeholders around a clear path forward.
  • Maintain an informed view of each partnership's health, including customer sentiment, leadership changes, emerging concerns, and upcoming initiatives; act early and coordinate the appropriate internal response.
  • Own the enterprise customer relationship management system and pipeline across all three Vetcove platforms, keeping opportunities, forecasts, relationship risks, and next steps accurate and current; lead regular pipeline meetings to drive accountability and follow-through, and present opportunities, risks, and actionable recommendations to the executive team regularly.
  • Translate customer needs into specific, actionable insights for Product, Engineering, and company leadership; surface important requirements, including integrations, early enough to inform priorities and strengthen the company's ability to win and deliver.
  • Partner with platform leaders and teams across Vetcove to deliver thoughtful proposals, well-prepared customer conversations, and credible commitments.
  • Work closely with Implementation and Customer Success to keep customer goals and commitments clear; stay engaged as a senior relationship partner, supporting long-term success and identifying the next opportunity.
  • Turn successful approaches into practical messaging, processes, and playbooks that strengthen enterprise relationships, navigation of enterprise decisions, and partnership growth.

About the company

Vetcove operates a centralized procurement platform for veterinary practices. It aggregates products from multiple veterinary distributors into a single online marketplace, letting clinics compare prices and product availability, place orders, and manage purchases with features such as order history, cart management, and analytics. The platform earns commissions on sales processed through the site, aligning Vetcove’s revenue with helping customers find good deals and streamline buying. Unlike platforms that limit suppliers to a single source, Vetcove consolidates many distributors in one place to save time and increase buying transparency for veterinary clinics, hospitals, and corporate groups. The goal is to simplify and speed up the procurement of veterinary supplies and medications while providing insights to support smarter purchasing decisions.

What believers are saying

  • AVMA Direct Connect renewed in 2025 keeps Vetcove inside member purchasing workflows.
  • The 2026 IDEXX Neo integration syncs orders and inventory, deepening daily operational use.
  • DaySmart Vet added Vetcove Prescription ID in 2026, expanding prescription workflow stickiness.

What critics are saying

  • Covetrus, MWI, and Patterson control distributor portals and can compress Vetcove's margins.
  • Vetcove depends on vendor accounts; supplier bypass integrations would strip its marketplace value.
  • If corporate groups standardize on distributor-native ordering, Vetcove becomes a thin convenience layer.

What makes Vetcove unique

  • Vetcove serves 23,000+ clinics daily with one catalog across major vendors in 2026.
  • AVMA Direct Connect and IDEXX Neo embed Vetcove into practice workflows in 2025-2026.
  • Hospital-group portals centralize purchasing analytics, compliance, and negotiated pricing across locations.
