  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required because only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Code and simulate RTL using VHDL or Verilog.
  • Understand digital circuit architecture, design, resource tradeoffs, timing analysis, and timing closure.
  • Develop testbenches to verify RTL blocks using VHDL or SystemVerilog.
  • Use ASIC and/or FPGA simulation and synthesis tools such as ModelSim, Synplify, Quartus, Vivado, or other FPGA-specific tools.
  • Be familiar with revision control concepts and tools such as Git or Subversion.

Responsibilities

  • Capture requirements and perform ASIC/FPGA digital architecture and design using RTL, timing closure, verification, and system integration.
  • Recommend new tools and practices for continuous improvement in the group's ASIC/FPGA design flow.
  • Contribute to engineering estimates for new program pursuits.
  • Provide technical leadership for project design teams by breaking down work, planning activities, and reporting status.

Desired Qualifications

  • Be familiar with best-practice chip-level verification techniques and languages, such as constrained random, functional coverage, and SystemVerilog.
  • Perform ASIC/FPGA lab validation using advanced lab equipment.
  • Work with minimal supervision, collaborate with engineers of varied skills and backgrounds, and matrix into projects with aggressive schedules and frequent milestones.
  • Have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to document and present work and status.

About the Company

RTX

Manufactures jet engines, avionics, missiles

RTX operates in aerospace and defense with three main units: Pratt & Whitney jet engines, Collins Aerospace avionics and flight systems, and Raytheon defense systems. Jet engines provide thrust for commercial and military aircraft, avionics manage cockpit controls and navigation, and Raytheon builds missiles, radar, and sensing platforms. It differentiates itself by offering an integrated, end-to-end portfolio across both commercial aviation and national defense under one corporate roof, built on the legacy of Raytheon and UTC. Its goal is to help customers fly more efficiently and protect nations by advancing propulsion, electronics and defense tech for civilian and security needs.
