Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of purchasing experience.
  • Understanding of inventory and service objectives.
  • Ability to communicate with suppliers, customers, and internal departments.
  • High degree of accuracy.
  • Organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to treat suppliers, customers, and employees with tact and respect in difficult situations while remaining persistent.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, macros, data analysis, and complex reporting.
Responsibilities
  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers for cable assembly, wire harness, connectors, and other electrical components.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and lead times to achieve cost savings and delivery performance.
  • Develop long-term supplier relationships to maintain supply-chain stability and reliability.
  • Issue and track purchase orders to ensure on-time material delivery.
  • Monitor open orders, expedite as necessary, and resolve supply-chain disruptions.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records in an ERP/MRP system such as Epicor.
  • Run ERP reports using systems such as Epicor, SAP, Oracle, or similar for spend analysis, supplier performance tracking, and inventory planning.
  • Analyze purchasing trends, material usage, and lead times to support forecasting and decision-making.
  • Provide financial visibility to management through accurate procurement records.
  • Ensure suppliers comply with Aerospace and Defense regulations, including ITAR, DFARS, and FAR, AS9100 quality standards, and customer requirements.
  • Work with Quality and Engineering teams to evaluate supplier performance and drive improvements.
  • Manage non-conformance issues and coordinate supplier corrective actions.
  • Drive cost-reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and performance standards.
  • Collaborate with Planning and Finance to align purchasing decisions with inventory control and cash-flow objectives.
  • Forecast and develop procurement strategies to avoid shortages and excess inventory.
  • Partner with Engineering to analyze bills of materials for manufacturability and sourcing feasibility.
  • Support Sales and Program Management by providing accurate material cost estimates for quoting.
  • Work with warehouse and production teams to resolve material shortages and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Engineering, and other departments to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
  • Build and maintain supplier and vendor partnerships to improve pricing, terms, and delivery performance.
  • Perform other responsibilities, initiatives, and ad hoc projects as required.
