System Administrator
About the job
- Three to five years of experience in system administration.
- Experience with Linux systems, such as Ubuntu, Red Hat, or similar.
- Understanding of basic networking concepts, including DNS, DHCP, VPN, and routing.
- Hands-on experience with Windows 10/11, Windows Server, and Active Directory.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration.
- Ability to troubleshoot a wide range of technical issues.
- Citizenship or lawful permanent resident status is required due to the federal position.
- Provision, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers and workstations.
- Support NASA IT infrastructure and labs, and support testing and delivery activities within assigned projects.
- Monitor system performance and perform routine maintenance and updates.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
- Participate in backup, disaster recovery, and patch management activities.
- Support IT security initiatives, including log review, vulnerability remediation, and compliance activities.
- Document system configurations, troubleshooting steps, and procedures.
- Provide responsive support to end users and project teams.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and Group Policies within Active Directory.
- Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Assist with cloud services configuration using AWS or Azure.
- Experience with RF concepts and technologies.
- Experience working in DevOps teams and building out development and test infrastructure.
- Experience with virtualization concepts.
- Scripting skills in PowerShell or Bash.
- Exposure to cybersecurity frameworks, including ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS Controls.
- Experience with automation tools or configuration management.
