Requirements
  • Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalency.
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in court reporting.
  • Candidates must hold the certification as a National Court Reporters Association Registered Professional Reporter, or equivalent certification (e.g., certified by the state of performance or other appropriate licensure or proof of education).
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Candidates must be technically proficient in using a computer to communicate via email and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related tools and technology required for the position.
  • Candidates must be able to read, write, and understand English fluently.
  • Candidates must be able to submit to and qualify for varying levels of background investigative requirements.
  • All employees must be able to read portion of transcript during proceedings and clarify inaudible statements if asked.
  • Candidates must be able to administer oaths.
  • Physical requirements include bending, pulling, pushing, lifting up to 20 pounds, reaching, walking, standing and sitting for extended periods.
  • Candidates should have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five years.
Responsibilities
  • Provide Court Reporting Services to the Westeran States Network Consortium.
  • Produce accurate, timely, bound and indexed transcribed testimony from witnesses.
  • Be punctual and present at relevant proceedings and provide all necessary equipment and materials.
  • Read portions of the transcript during proceedings at the request of the board or presiding body and clarify inaudible statements.
  • Administer oaths as required.
  • Ensure work products are thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria.
  • Meet milestones and delivery schedules as outlined by the client.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Administrative Investigation Board process (AIB), Equal Employment Opportunity Hearing, Human Resources Management Merit System Protection Board (MSPB) or arbitration hearings is preferred.
  • Experience with relevant court reporting processes and environments may be considered an asset.
