About the right team member

The Corporate Counsel is a hard-working team player with a minimum of six years of relevant experience. This role has broad commercial responsibilities and will help all aspects of the business including identifying and advising on legal risks, business strategies, drafting and negotiating a wide variety of contracts, reviewing marketing materials, researching the regulatory landscape, providing general support for business transactions and general operations, and the legal team. 

About the role

• Provide legal and strategic business advice to help develop a comprehensive, long-term approach to the commercial aspects of our products and programs
• Draft and negotiate contracts
• Interpret contract requirements, obligations and risk exposure and advise on same
• Educate business partners on key commercial, legal, corporate policy and other considerations
• Facilitate the timely closure of business transactions while minimizing risk exposure
• Review marketing materials and provide guidance on product requirements
• Identify and mitigate risks and liabilities
• Advise business teams in a variety of domestic and international locations
• Provide legal support for other departments and initiatives as required
• All other duties as identified

Skills & experience

• J.D. degree and member in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar
• At least 6 years of relevant legal experience. In-house experience required, ideally in the technology industry
• B2C experience ideal
• High degree of professional ethics and integrity
• Experience in leading contract negotiations
• Ability to drive cross-functional projects
• Strong business acumen and practical approach to legal challenges
• Experience collaborating with business teams and other members of the legal team (regulatory, product, privacy, marketing, etc.) to ensure business needs are met
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate complex legal points and concepts to a diverse array of internal stakeholders
• Ability to quickly learn new software applications and technologies and associated legal issues
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Strong proofreading skills
• Ability to juggle many competing priorities and to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, sometimes ambiguous environment
• Excels at working independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to learn and take on matters outside your primary practice areas

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.

The base salary range for this position in the United States is $161,300 - $201,700. The total compensation package for this position may also include performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
