Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in mechanical engineering or a related field is required.
  • At least 3–5 years of experience is required.
  • Ability to independently drive tasks and projects from concept to production.
  • Proficiency with 3D computer-aided design tools such as Creo or SolidWorks.
  • Experience with engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and design for manufacturing.
  • Ability to develop, test, and produce components and systems.
  • Technical writing skills, including experience authoring test plans, procedures, and detailed technical reports.
  • Familiarity with researching and applying military and commercial specifications and standards such as MIL-STD, ASTM, and ISO.
  • Conceptual or practical experience with finite element analysis methods to support mechanical design and evaluation.
  • Ability to work on-site in the office up to five days per week as required, with situational telework available.
  • Ability to frequently walk, stand, and move between workstations in a machine-shop environment.
  • Ability to lift and move materials or parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to use required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
  • Ability to occasionally bend, kneel, and reach to access materials or equipment.
  • Must be able to maintain a Secret-level security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required for the clearance at this location.
Responsibilities
  • Provide highly technical expertise and guidance to solve complex engineering problems.
  • Perform all phases of hardware design, development, integration and implementation, and analysis.
  • Plan and conduct engineering feasibility studies for design-improvement modifications and implementation of advanced technologies.
  • Develop standards and guidelines for assigned tasks.
  • Interface with government personnel.
  • Support manufacturing projects through hands-on technical work and maintenance of equipment and supplies.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with engineering drawings and quality assurance techniques.
  • In-depth experience with precision machining operations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working across interdisciplinary teams.
  • Regular exposure to noise, dust, and vibrations typical of a machine-shop environment.
