About the job

Requirements
  • At least three years of experience managing software engineers, including hiring, performance management, coaching, and developing senior individual contributors.
  • Experience leading a team through a significant migration, re-platforming, or architectural change.
  • Substantial hands-on experience building identity, authentication, authorization, or access-control systems at scale.
  • Experience designing systems that other teams build on, explaining key trade-offs, and managing migration and adoption.
  • Recent experience designing, prototyping, reviewing, or shipping production code, and the ability to critically review code and designs and help debug authentication or authorization issues.
  • Experience addressing real-world identity and authorization security problems and changing system design or operating models as a result; understanding that security monitoring requires more than tracking errors and latency.
  • Ability to write usable design documents, explain complex systems plainly, and give leadership recommendations.
Responsibilities
  • Own the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for Circle’s identity and access platform.
  • Manage, coach, and grow a team of backend and frontend engineers; set clear expectations, give direct feedback, develop senior engineers into technical leaders, and hire well.
  • Stay close to the code and systems by leading technical designs, reviewing critical code paths, debugging production issues with the team, participating in incident response, and building prototypes when that is the fastest way to make progress.
  • Partner with Security, Product, Onboarding, Risk, and product engineering teams that integrate with identity.
  • Turn competing requests into a sequenced roadmap and explain the trade-offs behind it.
  • Run the team’s delivery process, including planning, scoping, migrations, cutovers, rollback plans, and honest status reporting.
  • Improve the team’s engineering practices, operational readiness, and ability to provide reliable platform capabilities to the rest of Circle.
Desired Qualifications
  • Direct experience with Okta, Auth0, or an equivalent customer identity platform, including hosted-versus-custom architecture decisions, organization-level policies, or extensibility mechanisms.
  • Experience with AI agent identity, delegated authorization, workload identity, service identity, or other non-human identity systems.
  • A point of view on agent registration and lifecycle, delegation chains, least privilege, token scoping, revocation, auditability, and preserving accountability when an agent acts on behalf of a person or organization.
  • Experience building or operating systems where software agents or automated services can take consequential actions under bounded authority.
  • Experience in fintech, crypto, payments, or another regulated environment where KYC/KYB, entitlements, auditability, and operational controls are part of the product.
  • Familiarity with identity and authorization patterns including on-behalf-of token exchange, MCP authorization, SPIFFE/SPIRE, workload identity federation, agent registries, or policy engines such as OPA or Cedar.
  • Experience with Java or Kotlin backend systems and modern TypeScript frontend applications.
  • Experience leading a geographically distributed team.

Circle and ACI Worldwide pilot USDC settlement for Colombian banks

ACI Worldwide and Circle launched a pilot in Colombia to show how banks can add USDC settlement to their existing payment systems. The pilot uses ACI Connetic, ACI's cloud-based payments platform, alongside Circle's USDC infrastructure. ACI built the central system behind Bre-B, Colombia's instant payments network. The companies said stablecoins would complement it, not replace it. "The conversation around stablecoins is moving from possibility to practicality," said Craig Ramsey, ACI's global head of account-to-account payments. Connetic also supports other payment networks and digital asset providers. Circle shares fell more than 1% in early trading on Tuesday. The company reports third-quarter results on November 4, with analysts expecting revenue of $787.70 million.

Circle falls 7% as Mizuho warns of AI agent risk, cuts target to $43

Circle Internet Group shares fell 7% after Mizuho kept its Underperform rating and cut its price target to $43 from $45. The bank warned that AI personal-assistant engines pose a "marked risk" to Circle's revenue. Mizuho asked AI agents where to hold cash. They steered users out of USDC toward higher-yielding, FDIC-insured alternatives. The bank sees $4 billion to $9 billion of medium-term downside to USDC in circulation, and a 10% to 20% hit to reserve revenue. Circle earned 95.2% of its second-quarter revenue from interest on USDC reserves. Coinbase, which received about $1.4 billion of Circle's $2.6 billion in 2025 reserve income, fell 5%. Circle reports third-quarter results on November 4.

Circle expands Alliance Program with eight new partner benefits.

Circle expands Alliance Program with eight new partner benefits. Oct 23, 2026 at 07:10 AM GMT+2 Circle has expanded its Circle Alliance Program (CAP) with eight new or improved membership benefits and a private Alliance Hub, offering partners closer access to its products, support teams and business network. * Circle has expanded its Alliance Program with eight new or improved benefits and a private community platform. * The Alliance Hub replaces Discord, giving members access to discussions, resources and dedicated industry groups. * Partners can seek early product access, improved technical support and closer engagement with Circle Ventures. * Circle plans to introduce a partner-focused podcast in early 2027, with guest applications already open. * Circle did not disclose CAP membership figures, participation fees or financial incentives associated with the expansion. According to Circle's October 22 announcement, the changes followed feedback from existing members seeking better industry connections, product engagement and opportunities to showcase their businesses. The company introduced the updated program without disclosing its membership size or participation costs. One of the main changes is the introduction of Alliance Hub, a members-only platform bringing together community discussions, educational resources and partner activities. Existing members will move from Discord to the new platform, which Circle developed specifically for the program. The hub provides access to regional and industry-specific groups, allowing companies operating in similar markets to exchange information and identify potential collaborators. Circle said members would have more opportunities to connect with Circle Ventures and its investment network through the revised program. The announcement did not identify the number of companies already enrolled in CAP or provide a target for future membership. Circle's public application process remains available to businesses interested in joining its ecosystem. Moreover, the program originally launched in November 2023 to connect organizations using Circle's stablecoin and blockchain services. Its existing benefits included networking events, educational sessions, marketing opportunities and access to Circle personnel. Partners gain early product access and dedicated support. Beyond community networking, Circle is introducing opportunities for members to explore new products and beta releases before they become publicly available. Participating companies can use that access to assess potential integrations and provide feedback during product development. Members will receive enhanced support, including direct escalation channels and more timely responses when technical questions arise. Circle did not specify guaranteed response times, access requirements or whether every member would receive identical support arrangements. Another change involves structured product-feedback sessions, giving partners an opportunity to discuss their experiences with Circle's technology. Strategic updates from company leadership will provide participating businesses with information about products and ecosystem developments. The revised benefits build on existing product sessions and partner engagement activities. Circle presented the changes as a response to member requests, without announcing new financial incentives or revenue-sharing arrangements. Circle prepares partner podcast for early 2027. The expanded program introduces additional opportunities for businesses to promote their work through Circle's communication channels. An upcoming podcast, scheduled for early 2027, will feature stories from companies building with its products. Applications for podcast appearances have opened, while existing opportunities for member spotlights, joint case studies and speaking engagements remain available. Circle did not announce a launch date, episode schedule or confirmed guest lineup. Circle Alliance Program representative Adam Dean Wozney welcomed the updated benefits in an October 22 X post. He encouraged interested companies to apply and described the new platform as a way for members to connect with one another and Circle. Separately, Kairo announced its CAP membership on October 21, describing the program as a community of companies working on blockchain-based financial services. The announcement did not disclose any commercial agreement or financial commitment between Kairo and Circle. USDC distribution remains central to Circle's partner network. Circle's partner program operates alongside its efforts to distribute USDC through exchanges, wallets, payment companies and financial institutions. In August, crypto.news reported on Circle's renewed relationship with Coinbase, including arrangements supporting USDC distribution. Circle separately disclosed more than 150 partners receiving economic incentives to integrate, distribute or support USDC. That figure describes a commercial partner category and should not be treated as the number of CAP members. The company's payments operations have developed through separate institutional arrangements. Circle recently reported 175 participating institutions in its Payments Network, a different program serving businesses involved in stablecoin-based payments. Circle has discussed plans to enter approximately 40 markets, particularly across emerging economies. Those plans concern its international payments business and do not establish the geographic distribution of CAP members. The company has not said whether competition from rival stablecoins or bank-issued digital tokens influenced the latest CAP changes. Its announcement attributes the revisions to partner feedback and contains no new membership figures, program fees or financial performance targets.

Trump and crypto firm sued for profiting from foreign government.

Trump and crypto firm sued for profiting from foreign government. PUBLISHED: October 22, 2026 at 7:48 PM EDT UPDATED: October 22, 2026 at 7:50 PM EDT By Bob Van Voris and Olga Kharif, Bloomberg News Donald Trump and World Liberty Financial, the cryptocurrency venture he co-founded with his sons, were sued by a shareholder in a rival crypto firm over claims the president illegally profited from his office in violation of the U.S. Constitution. Benjamin Greenberg, a shareholder in Circle Internet Group Inc., claims illegal competition from World Liberty has harmed him and other Circle investors financially. The suit claims Trump violated the Foreign Emoluments Clause, a provision of the U.S. Constitution that bars presidents from taking payments from foreign governments without the approval of Congress, in two World Liberty transactions with the United Arab Emirates. "This action is about the President of the United States corruptly profiting from more than $2 billion in payments from a foreign government in direct violation of the Constitution," Greenberg said in a complaint filed Thursday in federal court in Washington. "No president in American history has profited from his office so brazenly." Trump reported $1.4 billion in earnings related to his crypto ventures, including World Liberty, last year. The revelation drew a backlash from Democrats in Congress and has been blamed in part for the failure of the Clarity Act, which was supposed to establish market-structure rules for the crypto industry. According to Greenberg, the sale of a 49% stake in World Liberty for $500 million to an investment vehicle backed by a member of UAE's ruling family and the purchase by Abu Dhabi's MGX fund of World Liberty's stablecoin to fund a $2 billion transaction were against U.S. law. Greenberg filed his so-called derivative complaint as an individual Circle shareholder seeking to recover damages on the company's behalf. He claims shareholders were financially harmed by World Liberty, which competes with Circle in the stablecoin market. "This lawsuit was filed by an individual shareholder, not by Circle," a company spokesperson said in response to the suit. "Circle did not initiate, direct, authorize, or participate in the filing." A World Liberty spokesperson said the claims are "without merit." "World Liberty Financial is compliant with all U.S. laws and regulations," David Wachsman said in a statement. "No one at World Liberty Financial works for the U.S. government." The Justice Department didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. The case follows several legal challenges filed against Trump in his first presidential term, which ended in 2021, claiming violations of the Emoluments Clause, and criticism that he improperly profited from the presidency. None of the suits were successful in recovering money from the president, nor forcing him to stop business practices they claimed were unconstitutional. Trump and his sons co-founded World Liberty months before the 2024 election. The company issued two tokens, WLFI and stablecoin USD1. The stablecoin was used last year by Abu Dhabi's MGX fund to purchase a $2 billion stake in Binance, the world's biggest crypto exchange. The stablecoin currently has a market cap of about $4 billion, per tracker CoinGecko. World Liberty is already embroiled in a legal battle with billionaire Justin Sun, who accused the company of illegally freezing his WLFI tokens and extortion. World Liberty in turn sued him for defamation. The suit against Trump and World Liberty seeks an order blocking the president from violating the Foreign Emoluments Clause, as well as disgorgement of illegal profits and unspecified damages. The case is Greenberg v. Trump, 26-cv-03686, U.S. District Court, District of Columbia (Washington). (C) 2026 Bloomberg L.P. Visit bloomberg.com. Distributed by Tribune Content Agency, LLC.
