EliseAI, an AI company automating housing systems, has partnered with DOOR (formerly Latch), a smart access technology provider for multifamily housing. The integration connects DOOR's OpenDOOR platform to EliseAI's AI-Guided Tours and Maintenance App products. The partnership enables prospects to tour rental units independently by unlocking doors themselves through the system. Residents no longer need to be present when maintenance technicians arrive, as the app unlocks units directly for dispatched workers. Access is controlled through timed codes and gated by vacancy status and resident permissions. "Our AI understands the operational context," said Minna Song, EliseAI's co-founder and CEO. The integration is now available across DOOR-enabled properties using EliseAI's products, requiring no additional hardware.
EliseAI and DOOR team up so renters can tour units and get maintenance done on their own schedule. September 24, 2026 EliseAI, the leading AI company automating complex housing systems, today announced a partnership with DOOR (formerly Latch), a provider of smart access and building intelligence technology for multifamily housing. The integration connects DOOR's new OpenDOOR platform to two EliseAI products, AI-Guided Tours (AIGT) and Maintenance App, adding DOOR to the roster of property technology providers EliseAI integrates with across its product suite. The integration puts renters in control of when they move through a property. Prospects touring through AIGT can unlock doors themselves and see a unit on their own schedule, and residents waiting on maintenance service no longer need to be home to let a technician in. EliseAI's Maintenance App unlocks the unit directly for the technician dispatched through it, without a physical key or a staff member on-site. Access is provisioned through a timed code and gated by both vacancy status for scheduled tours and resident permissions for maintenance work order servicing, so teams can keep track of who entered and when to ensure the highest level of security. "Our AI understands the operational context, and working together with DOOR, it lets a prospect tour a unit on a Sunday afternoon without anyone meeting them there, and a resident get a leaky faucet fixed without taking the day off to let someone in," said Minna Song, co-founder and CEO of EliseAI. "That's less back-and-forth for the renter, and it frees up the property team to spend more time on higher-impact work." The OpenDOOR platform opens up the infrastructure to the property tech ecosystem to allow partners like EliseAI to connect their products directly to DOOR OS. "We believe the most valuable thing we can do with our platform is open it up. No single company is going to build every workflow a property needs, and we shouldn't try." said Ryan Salmons, Chief Product and Technology Officer at DOOR. "OpenDOOR gives partners like EliseAI a direct, documented way to build on top of DOOR instead of around it. Touring and maintenance staff get secure, reliable access, and operators get more value out of the infrastructure they already have in their buildings"
New York overtakes San Francisco as america's top tech talent hub. New York has overtaken San Francisco as the US's largest tech talent market, driven by AI growth, expanding companies, and diverse industries, while mixed stock movements highlight changing technology-sector dynamics. Published on: 23 Sep 2026, 12:45 pm Updated on: 23 Sep 2026, 12:45 pm New York City has overtaken the San Francisco Bay Area as the largest tech talent market in the United States, driven by rapid growth in AI companies and the workforce supporting them. From 2022 to 2025, New York's tech workforce grew by over 30,000 workers. During the same period, San Francisco's tech workforce shrank by nearly 24,000 workers. The shift reflects New York's expanding role in the technology sector, supported by its diverse industries and proximity to customers. These factors have made the city an increasingly attractive hub for AI firms. AI firms expand in New York. EliseAI, an AI company, recently expanded its New York headquarters, highlighting the city's growing importance in the sector. AI is also reshaping work. While automation is taking over repetitive tasks, it is creating new roles in areas such as housing and healthcare. The changes are being felt across industries as companies adopt AI to improve operations and serve customers. Despite New York's growth, San Francisco remains a major technology center. The Bay Area continues to have a high concentration of tech workers and remains an important base for technology companies. US tech stocks show mixed movement. New York overtakes San Francisco Bay Area as largest US tech talent market by workforce size. New York has overtaken the San Francisco Bay Area as the nation's largest tech talent market by workforce size for the first time, as the artificial intelligence boom helps reshape where technology companies are hiring and expanding. CBRE's 2026 Scoring Tech Talent report found that New York's tech workforce grew by 30,640 workers between 2022 and 2025 to 394,300, while the San Francisco Bay Area's tech workforce shrank by 23,900 to 375,730. Fran Loftus, chief experience officer at New York-based EliseAI, told FOX Business that the numbers reflect what her company is seeing on the ground. "I definitely think New York has become a major AI hub," Loftus said. META'S MUSE BECOMES APP STORE'S HOTTEST DOWNLOAD "Walking down Fifth Avenue, seeing so many other AI companies, it's clear that there is a concentration of great AI technical talent here, which is exactly why we've grown our New York footprint." But why has New York become an AI hub? Loftus explained that being in New York puts the company close to both its customers and the people using its products, while the city's broad mix of industries gives AI companies access to workers with different types of experience. EliseAI, a New York City-based AI startup that automates workflows for housing and health care operators, recently moved into a new 109,000-square-foot headquarters in the former Tiffany & Co. building on Fifth Avenue, joining several other AI and tech tenants on the block. TRUMP REBRANDS AI, REJECTS 'GLOBALIST SCHEME' TO CONTROL TECH "New York's strength is its diversity of industries, which is amazing for us to pull from as a fast-growing company in AI," Loftus said, adding that the city is "a great place for AI catalysts." As AI becomes more prevalent across the economy, Loftus acknowledged that the technology is changing jobs. "You can say it replaces some, it creates others," she said. But she argued that in housing and health care, AI can automate repetitive or administrative work while employees move toward more complex responsibilities. "Generally, the organization structure is just changing to now give a lot of this work to AI and up-level the responsibilities of the teams that are managing these workflows today," Loftus said. CALIFORNIA ENTREPRENEUR WARNS BILLIONAIRE WEALTH TAX COULD TRIGGER 'GIANT SUCKING SOUND' OF BUSINESS EXITS When asked about growing concerns surrounding AI, Loftus said its real-world applications are key to evaluating the technology's impact. "I think when you're looking at the application of AI, and EliseAI in particular's application of AI, I think it's pretty clear that this growth is sustainable and the impact is positive to the end user, the renter or the patient," she said. For young professionals entering the workforce or looking to break into the tech industry, Loftus said they should take advantage of the AI boom. "There's a ton of opportunity," she said. "I think that the role opportunities for folks that are very entrepreneurial are massive in AI organizations like ours," she continued. NVIDIA'S JENSEN HUANG REJECTS AI DOOMSDAY FEARS: '2030 IS NOT GOING TO BE THE END OF THE WORLD' Loftus argued that as AI changes jobs in industries such as health care and housing, automating repetitive work could make some career paths more attractive. EliseAI itself is hiring across several markets, including New York, San Francisco, Boston, Chicago, Austin and Toronto, according to Loftus. She also said EliseAI recently surpassed $200 million in revenue and has doubled its revenue every year for the past five years, adding that its AI agents now support roughly one in six U.S. apartment units. While New York has become the largest tech talent market by total workforce, the San Francisco Bay Area remains a major technology center. According to CBRE, tech workers account for more than 10% of overall employment in the San Francisco Bay Area, putting it among North America's most tech-concentrated labor markets. Loftus also said EliseAI is expanding in San Francisco, even as New York remains its largest office.
